maybe some of the mobo companies are behind. Try emailing DFI and finding out if they have a bios that supports the venice and san diego. I got the email adress for you in case you want to send them one techsupport@dfiweb.com

That is so far away! :(
:dammit: I got my DFI SLI-DR siting in his own box, waiting for my future 3700+Sandiego, hopefully there's no problem to run with my DFI board :( :slobber:
Why wait for retail box? You know you're gonna throw a different cooler on there anyways. Monarch is saying all OEM Rev E chips should be in stock and shipping to customers by end of next week. Just grab one of those.Quote:

Yeah they're expecting plenty of them.Quote:

availibility is getting closer folks. who will take the plunge and order from this place?
I doubt they have it in stock if Monarch doesn't
Worth calling them them up tomorrow though for the people looking for the 3000+
Didn't see any of the other Venice / San Diego parts listed on their site
BTW SP-94 doesn't work with socket 939. Thats for socket 478.
I wouldn't bother. Read thru some of these...Quote:

Don't forget that Monarch will do a combo at no cost.. if you buy CPU and MB from them they will mount that chip and load the current bios, also make sure that everyhting is working.. they even send you a prepaid return label if there is a problem, the free Napster, FarCry, and Half-Life 2 is nice too.... :slobber:
Monarch set up combo
The combos have a longer lead time than when you order the components, which is not good for those that want the CPU NOW!!! :D. Anyway, I caved and ordered a 3500 Clawhammer. I will see how you guys with Vinie's do and decide if I will make a move to that this summer.Quote:

@Eldonko
On dfistreet RGone has his Sandy 3700 stable on 2915Mhz, so you have to do 2915 *1,10 = 3206,5 Mhz to get equal with your 3800.
prices in holland:
3500 boxed: € 271 (winnie boxed: € 261)
3800 boxed: € 369 (winnie boxed: € 357)
So the Venice is not much more expensive than a Winnie, just as I thought and hoped :D .
Bastards probably sent you a winnie.Quote:

well hope you enjoy the winny, at least itll give u something to play with till venice is available and I dont mean pre order
Cmon guys, no need to make the guy feel any worse. Don't punish him for taking a chance at picking up a Venice....
I was reading the rating history and almost all complains are about some wrong price of an video card , posted with unreal low price ( Asus 6800Ultra for 136 $ i think :D ) , so i thought its not a big deal , and placed the order ... And they did shipped it today , so i gues i'l find out if its real Venice tomorow  If its not ... They better refund my 29$ i payed for overnight shipping  and the refund my $ i payed for this CPU . but if it's a real Venice then OFMG i will be a lucky camper ! I will post what i got from them tomorow , i promise . I hope they didnt lie and its a Venice :rolleyes:Quote:

What would be really funny is if yea it is a winnie but since the place he got it from isn't that big name they may have some 0447 or 0448 chips still and that's what he gets. :p: :stick: :p:

Customer service at Monarch is great. I decided to switch from the 3800 to the 3700 so I emailed customer service to see what the process for this was. They replied within 5 minutes and I was able to change my order with no hassle whatsoever. I also got a credit of $50 back on my credit card (even though the difference was only $45).
Sucks I have to wait an extra week because of a May 6th ship date instead of April 29th but the $50 savings and potentially a better chip makes up for it.
You did the right thing :) .Quote:

Hey I joined this site not that long ago. With my ati 9800 i couldnt overclock, but since i moved to pci e for this new core I cant wait to overclock it. Rather then reading all the pages, I saw some were it said monarchcomputers were swamped with orders for the new core. Anyone know how long it will take? I know its first come first server. Know if there first cpu shipment in will fill all their orders?
Edit: I read above and that other thread, but Im still worried that I may not get my cpu for awhile since I may be far down the list.
I ordered the 3800, what seems to be the most popular?
Welcome :)
The ship dates are on Monarch' site. I guess the OEM chips either have arrived or will in the next few days and will be shipped Friday and next week. Not sure how many chips Monarch has, I would guess a lot though.
well, if you order a 3700, you may be down the list. Not many are going to order a 3000+, or a 3200+.
Here is screenshot , will post some pictures of the chip itself in a few minutes :) Thanks a lot http://www.pchardware4u.com :toast: Unfortunately they dont have them in stock any more , gues i bought the only one they had lol :D

Gorod
go get the new version of CPUZ. I think it's at 128.6 now. It has support for the venice cores. It doesnt say on the site what sub version it is, so you just have to download the 128 version again.

Congrats, I'm glad you made all those nay-sayers eat their words ;)Quote:

good question. I'd say post in the Official Venice OC Thread unless you get something really great like 2.9 Ghz air stable(that would be one hell of an overclock from 1.8!!). At that point you could probably even post it in the Extreme OC section or jsut make a thread here.
But for the most part, stick it in the Official thread. thats what its there for and trust me, plenty of people be seeing your accomplishements.
Comon give it hell, ive found that most 3000+'s can manage the same as their big brothers in winnies but i hope your board can handle 300HTT atleast :toast:
I want my 3700+ Sandy :(
Just use the Official thread to post your results. How's it clocking so far?Quote:

I tell you what , that 3000+ should be very very good from its info I can tell.:D
http://img216.echo.cx/my.php?image=0109eb.jpg
Looks like the same stepping as most of the initial venice cpus reviewed.
Hope i get a PAW.
You know what? OPB's right. The stepping and pack date on your cpu seems to be in the range of the two Venices I had which were both reviewed here at XS. They seem to OC a little better than the ones which are shipping with the later pack dates (0513+):Quote:

Just ordered a 3800 venice from monarch cause from the info I could find extra cache only gives about 5% more performance in actual games (NOT benches like 3d01) and I have faith that my 3800 will have 10% higher clocks than san diego. I always seem to get the best chips, happened many, many times before. Dumb luck I guess. Plus I really do not want to wait the extra week ;) . Still really based on luck, some 3700 will be better than 3800s, some not.

No, actually the guy said they only had a handful of them. So they had more than one or they wouldn't have put it up on their website for sale. I just wonder why they had them and monarch didn't. Makes ya wonder.Quote:

I too am very excited about this new AMD core. I ordered my 3800 venice from ncix yesterday-so I'm hoping to have that piece of bad-ass silicon strapped to my mobo any day now. I'm not much of a OC'er but when I heard about this new core -lets just say it definitely peaked my enthusiasm and drained my wallet. I was going to go out and buy a water cooling setup kit-but after reading MaxxxRacer's guide to cooling things became more clear and expensive. So I'll keep it on air till I can save $$$ for a proper water cooling setup.
I lasted 4 years without a upgrade-they got to me again.
This is a great site! lots of good people and info-glad to be aboard.
welcome to XS couch!!! Good to see you wanting to get back into the upgrade/OC game. You'll find everything you need somewhere on these forums. so kick back and stay a while. :toast:
So is San Diego 3700+ going to ship on Friday or not?
