@ Dumo - Great overclock fantastic chip you have there!
Thanks OC Nub and Jack:D
'06 with bios F7f @ 5.75G and HT on, 2GB D9GTR @ 1.88Vdimm...Asus 560Ti stock air. My 2004 SS still can hold this one

Dumo ...great chip and great OC :) How I wish my chip is like yours :D I can only do 52 x 100 now :(
@maxxx ... lemme try f7e on my day-off :) I hope it will be at par or better than f7f :D

@Bart..Thanks:)
No i meant drop the multi down to 56 or 55x and boost the blck. You haven't even used the 58x yet. i have seen 5.8ghz on this board, but with lower multi. The board wont allow blck to be raised more than 99.8 at 58x??

Hi , i thought that error code was caused by incorrect vcore?
I only ask as i have gskill as my sig and i have had some of this error too, seems to of disappeared at the moment though which makes me think its not my ram
Do many of you use 8 gig kits , what are the thoughts on 2x2Gig over 2x4Gig for overclocking the cpu that is ?
Hi sorry saw the replies about the code now a couple of pages back.
anyway 7h is on Tweaktown !

Are we eventually going to see 2400 for memory selection in an upcoming bios?
I noticed today after flashing back to f7e, scores take a hit in 3dmark tests. In Return to Proxycon 3dm05, I havent tested but I assume in 06 also, the opening scene I normally see 234-236fps in the ship, with f7e they drop to 200 and frames throughout the test look low. Flashed back to f8x and they are normal again. Anyone else notice this?
thats interesting to know nub i've tried all the bioses and settled on f6x as it uses the least vcore for same overclock for me of all the bioses, anybody on the f7h, any opinions
I will try f6x again, I only used it for a couple hours.
I picked up a Gigabyte GTX470 Soc. It clocks better than the EVGA 470sc but in sli they run like chit. I can score higher with my gtx460's.
the card in first slot is probably throttling or overheating i have the same cards setup :(
the cooler is not great for tight space SLI imo
I tried sli'ing the EVGA 470sc and the Giga, putting the evga in slot 1 because its a rear venting card which gave the soc plenty of room for air in slot 3 but the dont run well together.
The EVGA topped at 845-850mhz core in 06 but with a bios mod allowing for 1.215 vgpu, memory topped out at 893 :(.
The Soc 470 has topped out at around 870mhz core so far in 06 with stock bios, and 1000 on the memory hasnt shown any artifacts, a much better card .
Looks like evga isnt binning the gpu's, the default vgpu on the SC is 1.1v I believe, and the giga Soc is .975vgpu.
Ill try it with a higher oc on the cpu tonight.
05 score with the new 470
Nice score! I thought it was odd the score dropped that much from changing the bios.
Nice :D
Here's some 3dmark test with my 24/7 settings , nothing to extreme but doing well and giving out some Ati " cough cough " I mean some AMD shazam :D

Thanks guys!
Bad thing is some of the scores I submitted were run on f7e, now I gotta go back and retry a couple cards. My cf HD5870 scores were on f7e, hope they will go up.
Nice scores real 7
I noticed using the onboard power button to power down the pc when it freezes up due to overclocking seems to stop the boot loops. If I try higher multi than the cpu will allow, and get the 4E code, if I hold the power button to turn the pc off it doesnt go back to 4E code when you power back on. It goes to ccode 75 and allows you back into the bios. Something about hitting reset causes the long loops.
Yeah I've noticed that pressing RESET sometimes causes a double post, and often causes a failed overclock message. That never happens with using the power off button, unless CPU PLL override, is enabled, in which case, it can be a crapshoot whether it happens or not (it usually doesn't happen, though).
Using RESET with cpu pll override ALWAYS causes a failed overclock.
I don't even use the reset button anymore for now.
Put the 5870's back in and retrying some 3d with F8X bios.

Last couple of tests, this time on vista.
Thanks man, yeah score was a little better in vista. CPU score took a hit but 3d score went up.
Tried the 470's in sli again, they dont seem to scale as well as I hoped.
Loaded up Sp1 yesterday with f8x . . so far rock stable at LL1 1.416 vcore load and 1.452 idle @ 4.8 ran 9 hours prime v265 . . . tonight will start raising core and lowering timings more , since looks like my imc on my chip hates anything over 1600mhz
Prime Stable :D

Here what bios looks like:
Those two options works, but you need password (not very convenient) or dedicated power button (not all keyboards have it) to wake up/turn on the PC with keyboard.Code:
Power On By Keyboard
- Disabled Disables this function. (Default)
- Password Set a password with 1~5 characters to turn on the system.
- Keyboard 98 Press POWER button on the Windows 98keyboard to turn on the system.
ANY KEY option is there and works, but it is hidden and I have to make it selectable in every new bios release with hex editor.
BTW I use PS/2 keyboard. Less problems in bios/dos/etc. USB device (keyboard/mouse) wake up is a windows feature, no need for bios settings.
grats Tony  im passing linx with swap file enabled wich gives 20700+ problem size at 1,47 bios and had to notch vdimm 1,68 to 2133 7-10-7-27 1T /trfc 74 / IO = 2
but prime fails
SP1 seems hunger abouth mem now scores 20+ Gflops more than NON SP1
will try on 1869 7-9-7-24 at less vdimm and see how it goes
So far i tried all bioses and still F7e its a keeper for me
cheers

Hi,
Just trying to get my SB setup sorted. Managed to navigate thru the "bios image not recognised" problems with @bios then got win7 (64) installed and have played around with 5GHz settings. I'm getting closer to testing my setup but I cannot get ET6 to run in my Win7 64bit. Tried various ET6 setups and enabled OS changes in bios but the prog just starts and then nothing. Is it simply because I'm using a 64 bit OS?
F8x bios installed and everything else basic. No apps installed
Please help as it's driving me nuts. Must have missed sumpfink!!
Sorry if this has been before but I did do a thread search and google search.
Thanks Sergio nice pass at linx . . you at a high bandwith with tight timings heavy cpu and ram load like prime are sure to find a hole especially with SP1
... i would say for benching use 2133 and for 24/7 use use 1600 6 8 6 18 as there is not any difference at all worth but a number shown in memory bench programs , check out this http://techreport.com/articles.x/20377 , even loose 1600 9 cl keeps up with 2133 . . . but none the less would of been nice to get my mushkins ridgeline working for some benches . . guess up for sale with those suckers :D
Well it looks like the process is running, not sure about the ask permission thing I have user account control off & I am the admin of the PC so nothing gets in the way. I have the steering wheel in the task/toolbar whatever you call it on the bottom right hand side of the screen. I also have show all icons enabled in task bar properties so I see all things running. All I do is double click the steering wheel & it opens.
well i finally grab some patience and wait for 25 loop linx :D

you're going to kill that chip with stability testing LOL, i wouldnt do that and i wouldnt run that much vcore on 24/7 imo
andressergio you are running that chip 24/7 at those speeds?
Imo, stress tests are fine for the sake of it...testing. Put it that stress for 24/7 and it will asking for trouble which is degradation...especially on air.
It just my 2 cents:D
A little Question about P67A UD3P
I believe it's not much different BIOS setting between UD7 & UD3P. it's kind of weird I hv set
up to 4.8 Ghz as my sig with 1.392 VCore stable with prime95 1 Hr. but once I restart some time it's
crazy reboot loop with no reason until I hv to unplug PSU will stop the problem. It's happen randomly
I can'r guess what cause of these. Anyone have a suggestion?
BTW: I use F6a beta BIOS to unlock CPU PLL overvolt.
The easiest way is to flash the backup BIOS to match the main BIOS by pressing alt-f12 quickly at POST, before you get the disk drives screen ...
yes i found the issue in my board the UD7, on the timmings part search for IO latency its on AUTO put 2 instead so when you reboot your PC will not boot loop just sometimes wich is a known issue when you lett it of for a time and then turn on will loop 2 times but will load your settings perfect
this is just my experience
cheers and good luck
Sergio
Anyone know if GB are doing a GOOC UK event this year?
I'd like to go to something this year & a UK event would be great rather than going to CeBit.
Sorry for OT :D
I run my 5Ghz OC 24/7 at 1.38v LLC 2. Been folding at full load all day since I got it and no degradation.
newhit - ET6 works fine for me with W7 x64, never had an issue. It didnt work in XP at first but that was only because I didnt have that intel engine management thing installed. You running it as administrator?
at certain times llc2 could be welcomed cuase of the deep droop this board does . . at 4.8 im at 1.460 bios 1.452 idle 1.418 load lol crazy . But to stay withing 1.500 envelope at higher clock like 5.0 i got hit llc2 so it does opposite with idle voltage and load . . starts low and hit load a bit higher , can it do damage yes , remember if you set in bios 1.45 , on load youll hit 1.52 . . . RED ZONE for none benchers
LLC 2 gives big time jump in vcore. At 1.38v set in BIOS and LLC 2 I get 1.425v load, 1.405v idle. You can also use dynamic vid to fine tune.
eldonko you have like the perfect chip lol.
i realized that i passed all those linx 25 loops in vain...prime bsod at 35mins so crap i need to bump vcore to 1,428 load 1,46 idle passed 3hours so far at vtt 1.05 mem 1600 C7 now vtt 1.12 for 2133 C7 tight passing 1hour+ so far
LLC2 one has to be careful but dynamic vid is dangerous i tested and by mistake put like 2v so i wont be using it but i will give a try on LLC2
well here it goes same i passed linx 25 2,5+ hours prime stopped cauz im tooooo anxious lol before my tweaks it wouldnt pass 25 mins now its fiiine
LLC1 btw will try LLC2 later

Nice job.
What other tweaks did you do to make it pass?
i was testing 1,47bios set on LLC1 as my max vcore, so i decided this time to make it pass 3 hours + on 1600C7 to see if CPU was stable and it was i used 1,05vtt, so i cranked up ram and failed in 20mins so i went till 1,12vtt + that vcore and all went good
i also set trfc 88 and IO latency = 2 this last one makes me start and restart with no boot loops unless i make anything wrong
other tip i got is to use system agent on 0,975 that helps ram stable but i just used it on auto
the vcore combo + vtt was the key
thanks for asking
cheers !
Sergio
Installed the 2600k tonight, not a great chip but fun to play with.
I may take a trip to micro and see if I can get a better chip.

Nice timings for 1866 cl6 . . kickin a bit of voltage for 5.2 , Im sure i would need the same with my batch ,
Stasio im guessing this is the new version well get sent next month hopefully ?Quote:

I am in waiting list in Gigabyte Thailand
So as my friend real 7 told me i wasn't stable on NON SP1 so i was thinking i needed more volts to SP1 wich wasn't true...now i can pass the same on SP1 they key is using prime on this chips very easy to pass linx and fail prime
thanks bud

Alot of things have changed with sandy bridge but one thing that doesn't change , is prime . it does what your pc was meant to do but heavy loaded
if it don't prime it aint stable , ive past linx test 40 runs and failed on easy encoding . . after passing prime I never bsod
Sergio glad she running nice . . put your game face on;)
Nice, I still love Prime too, linx in good but the more you can test it with the better.
Don't forget to test with HCI Memtest too :)
Your load temps are kind of variable core to core, you can adjust them in Realtemp so they are the same (I choose a point closer to the hottest core and adjust to that point, so for yours say 67*C). Then do idle calibration adjustment so they are the same at idle. I know I have OCD but I like when they are close/same :D

Im try this real temp thing of yours I oike to see them the same to as in reality with them being on the same core im sure they are the same and intel sensors are always quirky

Nope it's a pure memtester in windows. You will have to run a few instances to eat up all the available ram. If the ram is unstable it will error out (logic)
I can hyperpi 32M al nite , yet the same ram clocks fail under HCI memtest, usually a slight bump in ram voltage stabilises it...
New B3 revision allready listed in the shop i have buy my UD7 .... if im lucky, i should be able to change it soon.
