lol atleast newegg is consistent with their price gouging...
Even though, it STILL looks like no retail E6600s or E6700s are to be found. What the hell.
hmm maybe I should eBay the retail e6400 I have incoming ;)Quote:

Those prices tell you something: They say that Newegg hasn't got a "lot" of them, and Newegg knows nobody else does, or will in the very near future.
wait to you get a load of the X6800 pricing, you thought $1400 was bad...think again. muhuhahahaha
fry's is obviously the place to go now b&m. And ewiz has e6300 in stock @ 211.
And zipzoomfly has e6300 at 219.
Limit of one per cutomer so cant try the 100 in cart to see how many they have :(
god damnit.
newegg has spent years developing very loyal customers and one heck of a fanbase. now in one foul swoop newegg is bending them all over and going to town...
lol so true.Quote:

It's REALLY illogical.
Look at the net sales newegg has... MILLIONS of $$ per month. So they're gonna sell a hundred CPU's at $100 extra gouging? That's dumb.
Newegg makes $$$ because they sell a thousand HDD's every day, a thousand LCD's and 2000 sticks of ram. If enthusiasts refuse to buy bread and butter from newegg it'll hurt them, a little.
Just got off the phone with Clubit. No answer and mailbox is full.

lol i was never loyal to newegg myself as to me there is no loyalty when it comes to shopping, as some people have stated "im gonna buy from newegg when they have them in stock, its worht paying the extra to get it from them" to me thats stupid, but what they wanna do
now i buy my oprtical drives and dvdr there cause those are at good prices but dont try to buy anything new thats gonna be good, member the x6800 talk about:bananal:
You would think that one of the biggest online retailers would have priority after companies like Dell...I guess not.
lmao...
someday we're going to laugh about all this!!!
Maybe newegg went to the local Fry's and cleaned them out ;)Quote:

Actually, it's VERY smart - exceptionally great business idea.Quote:

Next, consider that when you ask the "average" online shopper where the best place to buy parts is, many will say Newegg. They won't even check at other stores, because they think newegg always has the best prices. So in that case, those people may be buying these at the insane prices and not even realize they are paying those prices.
Finally, consider that Newegg will sell the processors, even at these insane prices. For every one of those chips that they sell at those prices, it's likely the same profit margin as 50-60 normal orders.
Customers may hate this pricing model, and it may alienate some people from buying the Conroes from them, but how many of you will refuse to ever buy from Newegg again now? Not many, I'd suspect. So in effect, Newegg gets to make a HUGE profit margin on a few chips, all while not really losing any customers.
I'd say it's a pretty good idea, actually, and I'd be willing to bet that 99% of the population would do the exact same thing, if they could ;)
well, i decided i want my pc ready tonite and the local microcenter has the e6600 (oem in stock). i will be lapping my cpu anyway so warranty is not an issue. i cant cancel my clubit order which is shipping today. i WILL have an extra E6600 if anybody is interested...

It may take some time to get through. I had to call a few times to finally get someone, so I'm pretty sure they don't have a lot of people on the phones. Plus with all the Core 2 lovin they've been serving up, I'm sure lots of people are making calls about their orders and what not. Customer service wise, they took care of me very well. They resolved a credit problem in about 5 minutes, and had my order shipped out that same day.Quote:

Outside of this gouging, I can say in the years I've dealt with them, and the thousdands of dollars I've spent there, I've not had ONE issue that wasn't solved within 10 minutes of dialing their phone number.
But yah, they are definately smoking something and it's definately not legal. That's a ton of freakin cash for a 6400.
P.S. Andy your last post is friggin hilarious!!
something tells me though that newegg's original ownership/ways of business in the beginning, drastically changed in late 03.. They never used to be like this. Im beginning to think the original newegg was bought. I rarely purchase from them anymore.. Seeing this pricing scheme makes it even more so. Off to the inquier! lolQuote:

Who cares what Screwegg does!! Expend your energy purchasing from resellers that demonstrate pro consumer business tactics.
Why is everyone so desperate to buy from Screwegg to the point of begging CSR's to re-consider their price strategy?? Just move on and let them self destruct.

Or you could spend an extra 10 bucks and get a 6300 from ScrewEgg!
Yea I've always been a supporter for small business because they actually care about their customers. As big as Newegg is; I "thought" they had the same ideology but I guess I was wrong now. If Newegg keeps this up with Kentsfield or K8L; then they can go to hell with that. :slapass:Quote:

Well I just called frys and had them put on hold an intel badaxe board and 6400 they said they would honor any frys coupon so I am bringing that 499 bundle coupon over in just a few to pick them both up. I think 540 after tax is reasonable for the cpu and mobo considering I dont have to wait for phantom shipping dates. Kinda sucks because I have an MSI board on its way to me so I guess I will have to sell it to someone. gonna keep my tank guys order for my 6600 just in case I dont like this 6400 though.
This is the response I got from PC Club for anyone thats interested.Quote:

Tank guys please stock X6800, I don't want to buy from anyone else.
When Newegg first listed X6800 a couple of weeks back for over $1350 I sent a flame mail to neweggrocks@newegg.com about it. I got a package of gifts a couple of days later (t-shirt, cap, stickers, license plate frames), and no direct reply to the e-mail. That's where part of their profits are going, to appease the unruly customers out there with gifts. Still doesn't change my mind about Newegg, I don't mind paying a little more for great service but this is :banana::banana::banana:ing rediculous.

Maybe its one big conspiracy and everyone is holding there conroes to jack up the prices on the lower end e6300 and e6400 because they feel like they won't sell once the e6600 and e6700 is in stock!
