I guess it depends on a couple of things. If your graphics card is memory limited (i.e. 128MB), chances are, the higher your mem speed, the better it's gonna be. It probably doesn't make much of a difference to the processor, but other parts of your system might still benefit from it.Quote:

you know, it wasn't my mobo, but ram :)Quote:

ja bought a-data 667mhz and now i run my system:
e6400 @ 8x425 1.4v
a-data 667mhz @ 850mhz 5-5-5-15 2.1v

There u go! I can see people who dont have ot tried to this board beating it up. Its a great mobo.
The CPUs especially the E6600 are not clocking as high as E6400 and people are crussifing the board.
I had the exprence myself and changed CPU 4 times and board 2 times. The wall is the CPU/RAM!
Does anyone else have problems with the F4 bios? I'm having problems with My pioneer dvd writer, it write's maybe 50% of a disk and stops, the light stops on, and I can't close the program. I've updated the m/b drivers etc. (DS3).
I've gone back to bios F4E and that works.
well after 2 solid hrs of reading thru this whole thread im glad I made my decision, Kevin (OPB) had me scared earlier saying that this board was garbage, but I think after he see's some of these results hed guess again..
I ordered a 6300 and a ds3 plus a GX2 and TeamXtreem 667 to go with my nice little budget sleeper setup..
Ill be happy with anything over 3 gigs becaus ecoming from a 165 @ 2.9 I cant imagine how the responce of this is gonna be..
Its def gonna be fun trying to tweak for max performance..
I ordered my stuff from the egg
Retail 6300 retail DS3
will post results within a week or 2 I hope
i have the same setup and im coming from a opty@2.8ghz/balllistix at 280Quote:

The board also wont boot my ram over 500mhz(i know it can do more). only 4usb slots, only 2 fan headers(1 is cpufan) make it horrible for watercooling, and no firewire. ehh I guess this is just a temp solution until the rd600 boards or the 590sli chipsets come out, thats my plan. Just giving you some insight on your upgrade since its exactly what I have
oh yea big performance increases in superpi though.. lol
WOW 3g and a 7950 and not even 10k in 06
wow
im shocked
I hope my overclocking goes a bit better
Ill be working with 2 gigs of team ddr667 so maybe theyll let the little roe that could breathe a bit more, but basically we have pretty much the same setup, itll be kewl to compare once its all said and done
imsa run the gx2 on the opty @ 2.9 first then the conroe once OPB sends me my ram..
the roe rig is gonna have to wait a few more days im guessing...
heres a pic to show you the 3dmark score i got, btw I had the expert tooQuote:

Although it didnt fail at those settings, I just stopped it. I use Intel's TAT to record my temps gaming and such and they dont even get as high with 60% usage as one instance of Prime. Mine is week 26 and I am on BigTyphoon air
Hmm. I'm hearing more and more reports about the later weeks being better. That's good news. Probably in a month or so, we'll be seeing 3.6 at 1.45v. :)Quote:

bad part is that you have WCing I hope stock air will give me even close to your setup, a plus side is I have OPB on msn messenger so if teams giving me a timing prob hell be able to gimme a pointer or two :PQuote:

Its the easiest OC board I've ever owned.....and I've owned a lot of boards.Quote:

I have team xtremes and booting at 516MHz 4-4-4-12 with 2.2v. I'm going to test them on my DS3 this weekend as I think my Bad Axe mem controller is shat.
i dont know my p3 bluelight special from kmart had the easiest OC i ever saw. i just changed 1 thing and it always worked. didnt have to disable anything or troubleshoot.Quote:

I add voltages cant even get into windows, I think maybe i need to update my bios..ill work on it thru the night..
I was over on the "P5B-deluxe" forum for while screwing with the P5B-D board/E6400. What a hassle! Never got over 2400Mhz plus not stable. Also tried the ECS P965t-a/E6600 $379 combo from Fry's not even 333x9 ike some guy on New Egg had. So Fry's had this Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3/E6400 $379 combo I picked up. Man!!!! Wish I saved some time and started with this setup! I finished the sys last night after bench testing the board, mem etc trying both the E6400 and E6600. After verifying on the bench got it all back in the case by 2 am this morning. Set up a Corsair Nautilus 500 Water Cooling system and went at it! The E6400 has been at 8x420 3360 Mhz all night with Stress CPU running. Showed about 50% CPU usage with the WC temps at 50c and system temp at 45c. I think system temp is the NB, is that right? the NB only has system air running over it but no fan on it. I'll get a block and water cool later. Running Super PI at 32M my temp is at 43c/46c. A question which I will probally post seperate. My mem is OCZ 6400 Plat 2x1G sticks. On the Gigabyte board they want you to put the sticks in the same colored slots for dual channel. When I do my system refuses to overclock. When the sticks are sise by side in runs single channel and overclocks fine???????? CPU-Z shows 420 Mhz 1:1 5-6-6-17 under memory. My OCZ says 4-5-4-15 on the sticks. Can any one enlighten me on the dual channel issue??????????? Other than that I can't understand why people beat themselves over the head with that ASUS P5B-D board. Oh yeah the E6600 ran at 3240Mhz 9x360 right out of the box. I havn't done anything in these OC's but set timing in bios.
