does that graph counts for the 165 to? i thought 170 only.

168 & 523, both can do 10x300 or 11/273 (2Gmem on 523) so far. Says 1.3... on bios (liars, DMM says 1.45-1.48)

I just downloaded the latest Tcase, and my Opteron 170 reading is 53 C. Previously, Tcase showed a reading of 49 C like was previously posted. Could someone clarify what the Tcase reading means, and if/why it is important?

On my 165 it said 49C... but there were no issues when I hit 51C (as high as it ever wnt)

I really dont think its very useful.

Case Temperature
Also called Tcase Max within AMD processor datasheets, this value indicates the maximum temperature the processor case is allowed to reach and remain within recommended operating temperature.

2.8GHZ, only 1.29V, dual prime stable six hours plus :D

I know once I get the peltiers cooler this will be a 3ghz chip too when I can make voltage = 1.5~1.55 :banana:

What was your load temps with that Zalman?

So, I can prime each core at 2950Mhz, but not together. Possible heat issue? Temps are 52C. Just couldn't wait for water... :P

Definately heat...at that frequency you should stay under 45C..voltage will not do you any good .

@ Grinch, 1.55 + 104%

@ Thunderstruck, definitely heat, 52cload makes VPMWs cry, get them cooler.

Load temp is 43C with the Zalman at stock volts

-can't go much higher frequency right now because temp problems develop quickly

I have a fear of razor blades, or at least of razor blades that make costly mistakes:) . Is it possible that the silicone sealant holding the IHS on my Opteron 170 would disolve if the processor was soaking overnight in it?

Try also different drivstrengths.. That helped on my previous OPTY. try the different settings and see if there is any improvement!

This is UNBELIEVABLY ghetto, i apologize, but this is quite a few results ranked... afew of them are kind of off, for example Grinch's 0358 i marged into the 035x because they were about the same, but i forgot that was before he removed the IHS, nevertheless the trends are similar.

Quick question before I upgrade.

I have a Venice 3000+ at 2.6ghz (1.55volts :( ). Am I pretty much sure to get at least 2.6 on a 165?

Yeah, even the worst 165 should do 2.6, but of course no guarantees. I think with decent cooling, you should be able to hit over 2.7 Ghz 90% of the time.

Course that's decent cooling, decent PSU, decent mobo, etc.

That's what I think after reading parts of the thread. I guess I can't go wrong considering I pay nothing for the upgrade.

times i wish I had water.

My memory has a lot to do with it also. If i keep my memory at 200mhz with loose timings, i can be stable at 3gighz.

If i do 2-2-2-5 @ 250 w/ cpu at 3gighz, then it fails prime.

right now I am rock stable at 2900 w/ 2-2-2-5/241mhz

Heat is killing me. No matter, I am off to yonah-land anyway.
