btw, my 0536GPMW that i just sold to RyderOCZ got 2.9ghz @ 1.65v.
On monday I ordered a 148 retail box from Newegg for overnight. Tuesday got a 148 CABYE 0540 FPBW. 100% stable at 3003mhz with 1.46V so far. I'm pretty sure they still have the same chips in stock, I would recommend jumping on it.Quote:

Not to bad for 6600GTs ....
Still working on things .. timings not so hot at this stage .. but getting through by sheer CPU speed...
146 CABYE 0540 FPBW
Watercooling rad outside (-+6°) :D

hmm then my 0536GPWM aint that bad. It does 2906Mhz @ 1.55V 32hours prime stable, but it looks like I cant hit 3ghz with it. Tried up to 1.64V without any luck. Load temps with 1.64V were about 52-54C, so I dont really want toQuote:

2 b continued!
I hope I'd be able to share my thoughts and opinions about my 146 soon. I ordered one for myself. I hope it'll come in a week's time.
Here ist another Opteron 144 0536GPMW 0070er Batch:
with a very good memcontroller. likes my OCZ EBs:

under prime only 2840MHz@1,52V
free
Not to be :( I can't get this thing stable at anything over 2.9 (290x10), I know the board can do more as 317x9 was stable on my 144, but even with 1.65v the CPU seems to have run out of speed.Quote:

- 3080MHz SP8M

Have'nt try over 1.45V yet, mems can do +280FSB 2-2-5-2-7-13 1T too :D
CABYE 0540FPMW batch 0092........Im still more than happy at 2.8, just others with the same chip are getting 2.9-3ghz on stock voltage :)Quote:

CABYE 0540FPBW Ran prime all night with zero errors and 1.42 avg. voltage. tried 1.45V and 2950 but prime failed pretty fast, I will try 1.50-1.55 just to see if it helps, I can setup down in the basement and turn the thermostat up (is 20F in iowa today.) Played games for hours and everything is working awesome, so for daily use, 2.9 is it!
2900 mhz with 1.5 volts prime95 small fft stable for 6+ hours 0540 FPMW
2900 mhz with 1.5 volts prime95 small fft testing so far 2 hours 0540 FPAW
seems like the cabye 0540FP()W ()=A,B,M are consistently hitting 2.9!
wish i could test a FPBW
my 146 from ZZF just came in today. CABYE 0540FPBW!! :woot: batch number is 04xx something. i'm at a friend's party right now, so testing comes later. :D
I just got mine today from ZZF and it's a 0540FPAW, batch#504??
I wasn't very happy :( but threw it in at 300x10@1.45 and it went right into windows. Bumped it up to 1.47 and benched it for about an hour.

Better then I thought. :D
Batch Number Doesnt Mean Crap!!!!
i got a small problem, not sure if its my board or the cpu's mem controller.
i can bench my 146 @ 3.2ghz no problem 1.625V but running occt or sp2004 @ 10x310 1.625V fails within 2 minutes yet occt finishes np @ 10x309 1.55V WTF?
edit: just ran occt @ 9x345 (3.107ghz) 1.6V 140 ram divider passed no problem, put ram divider upto 150 (258mhz) & fails straight away again and i know its not the ram as it runs 280mhz 6-3-3-2.5 and its only on 8-4-4-2.5 atm
another update:
just passed occt @ 10x310 1.6V using a 150 ram divider (221mhz) :toast:
it looks like as soon as the ram goes over 250mhz when clocked to 3ghz+ it fails, guess ive solved the problem, now to keep clocking
Got this in the mail tonight from Tankguys:
First off, how sweet is that, giving you an option to cancel once you know the stepping? Kudos to TG.Quote:
Good Evening!
We got our shipment of 146's tonight, and we have checked the steppings on all of them. Based on your spot in line, you have been given a CAB2E 0540 FPMW.
If you decide that you do not want this stepping or you wish to cancel your order for any other reason, you must let us know before Sunday night. Otherwise, this will be going out on Monday, and we'll forward you a tracking number as soon as we ship!
But you knew I was getting to this: Whaddaya think? Keep her, or toss her back?
@tatts ... I have also noticed a similar situation .. that at lower speeds the Mem can run up much higher but start getting over 3.1 and the controller seems to struggle...
even dropping the multi did not help ... I know this MB is good for up to 400-405 as the 3000+ Venice liked 375x8, and this 146 @ 395x9 was ok in Memtest.
What BIOS are you running? I have tried the new FX60Test beta but just could not get it to be stable .. have gone back to 623-2 as I found 704-2BTA was not a good fit on this MB. Maybe try 510-2FIX?
I vote that you keep it. The couple people I've seen here with a 146 CAB2E 0540 are reporting 3Ghz/1.5v SPI 32MB stable .Quote:
