Floppy drives are banned from my house. You dont need to use a floppy drive f6 method that crap. Intergrate the raid drivers using nlite into a xp cd so they already built into the xp so when you install xp it just sees the raid drive without needing to use floppy. It will take 10 mins of your time.
Here is my easy guide on doing it coming soon.
You have been nlited.
JMicron JMB363 RAID Controller Driver : DO NOT INSTALL THIS IF YOU ARE NOT USING THE JMICRON’S SATA CONTROLLER AS RAID OR YOUR IDE DEVICES, WHICH ARE ALSO PROVIDED BY THE SAME CHIPSET IN P5B DELUXE WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY. YOU DO NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT INSTALLATION OF IDE DRIVER EITHER. WINDOWS DEFAULT DRIVER WORKS BEST. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THERE ARE KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE SAID DRIVER INCLUDING PERFORMANCE SLOWDOWN, BURNING SOFTWARES NOT WORKING PROPERLY WITH THE IDE DEVICES. YOU WILL ALSO BE NOT ABLE TO USE THE BURNING FILES - COPY/PASTE WAY OF BURNING FILES USING WINDOWS.
I was late finding out about achi because i was using raid from the start. I was wondering why my sata drive in compatability mode was like running with the brakes on. I couldnt force the ahci drivers in device manager in xp only way was when installing xp.
still no respon after more than an hour....
it's just another name for virtualisationQuote:

Very Easy Guide for total noobs to intergrate Raid/Ahci drivers into your XP CD so you wont ever have to use floppy drive and F6 ever again.
Lets Begin
1. Download net framework - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
2. Install netframework
3. Download nlite - http://www.nliteos.com/
4. Install nlite
5. Make a folder on C drive called Xp
6. Make a folder on C drive called Intel
7. Get the latest Intel® Matrix Storage Manager driver here http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/index.htm - At this time the version is 6.2, the file is iata621_enu.exe.
8. Run this file but dont press Next yet! Instead browse to C:\WINDOWS\Temp\IIF\Winall\Driver and you find your unpacked ahci/raid drivers.
9. Copy ALL those 6 files to C:\Intel
10. Now click cancel and exit and you can now delete the iata621_enu.exe, you wont be needing it.
11. Get your XPSP2 CD, lick it clean, rub it well then insert it.
12. Run nlite
13. Click Next
14. Select the Browse button and select the drive letter of your XPCD and click Ok
15. Then select where you want to save the XPSP2 files. Select C:\Xp
16. Wait for it to copy the files. lalala
17. Click Next 2x
18. Select Drivers and select Bootable ISO so they light up green.
19. Click Next.
20. Click Insert/Single driver and Browse to C:\Intel and select the file iastor.inf
21. Hold down CTRL key and click the 2 ICH8R so they both highlighted and click Ok.
22. Now click Next.
23. Click Yes ands start the process.
24. Wait until you see Finished then click Next.
25. Insert a blank 700mb disk.
26. In the box Label type XPSP2_RAID then click Make ISO and select C:
27. Wait lalala until you see ISO created sucessfully.
28. Burn the image with nero lite v7.5.7.0 Micro http://www.updatepack.nl/ or instead at step 26 also select Burn Image instead if available.
29. You now have a original XPSP2 with built in Raid/Ahci drivers
30. You can now bin your floppy drive.
or just buy a $10 ATA>SATA adapter :D
which bios version is good for OC????
^ also to change the Vanderpool technology setting- just do a cold boot
I have one problem with my P5B dlx. When I reset bios or plug out and plug in the power cable or flash a new bios or change some important things in bios like voltages my cpu restarts but does not start few seconds after. It usually takes few minutes but sometimes 15 minutes or even more :(
Is it fixable or should I take it to guarantee? I would like to awoid the other solution becouse I would have to wait a long time to get a new one :)
Strange thing is that it wasnt like this when I got the MB. And I tried with all BIOS versions

most of the time this will work but make sure the board resets to default values before proceeding.
you may have to clear cmos more than once if you have been pushing the board hard:toast:
Is this for the Wifi version only? It's not listed for the P5B Deluxe (non-wifi).Quote:

It's been running for 2 or three months now without a glitch, but now it's starting to lock up about once a day. Did some testing with 3dmark06 (8 hours), orthos blend setting (5 hours), memtest 7 hours without any problems, but still the strange lock up error.
When testing with orthos (large, in-place ffts - stress some RAM) setting, it stopped after about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
ANy thoughts on the problem?
O yes, for what I know; When the problem first occurt, I rebooted the machine and it wouldn't start. I cut the power for about 30 seconds and restarted and it worked OK again.
Hey guys, how do you know if you're running 1:1 or 4:5 for memory...what settings in bios determine that?
mrt2 - what was that monitor that you said you liked all around?
mrt2 It`s ram frequency.

So hour and a half all in all. I connected all like before and push the button. afcorse I had to wait for 10 minutes to boot. Than he stopped on cmos error and asked me what do I want. Any o/c potential Difference between 0804 - 0910 ?

Hate to tell you that, but it sounds like cpu degradation from overclocking.Quote:
