I live 5 minutes from frys. I'm headed there tomorrow to see if they have the 304 boards in stock. Shoot me a PM if anyone wants me to pick one up for them. I think they are $259 though, too much for me to spend. But I'd be happy to help y'all out :)Quote:

I would imagine that these are the conroe compatable motherboards - if you are prepared to ship to the UK, I'll take one ;)
Cheers

so no luck with the egg
Update: Fry's Woodland Hills had no Intel D975XBX's of any revision on Sat, 5-13.
Ha, nice job Dubz, I was going to do a recon run to Fry's today and was going to post a question about where you find the rev info. Excellent, I don't have to crack open the box to find out either! :toast:
FWIW, Fry's usually has mobos out on the shelves, not in "the cage" like the CPUs and RAM. So you can paw and slobber over all of them like Michael Jackson at a 7th-grade slumber party.
Will be doing a recon mission to Woodland Hills, CA Fry's today. I just might have the same control issues with my credit card that MJ has as well.

They ordered before they were out. I am willing to bet there neww stock is rev 304. I mean if Fry's are getting major online retailers should get them as well.Quote:

Thanks for the offer, but I am going to save my pennies for now and wait to see the Conroe capable boards from Asus. I hate being an early adopter of new tech. I also want wait for a couple more revs to make sure all the "bugs" are worked out.Quote:

Yes I got the rev 302, but I would still be interested in finding a 304. I am really suprised that I have not even heard of someone getting a 303. You would think that there would be a surplus of 303s out there too.
Sorry to hear about getting a rev 302. If you're good with soldering, you COULD do the mod FCG found to make it conroe ready :)Quote:

anyone find these anywhere but fry's?
my guy at the boston warehouse has issued a stock check to both the new york and new jersey warehouses for the 304's
if there are still some people interested and we can get 304's, I'll re-start the group order for these boards
Yes, I'm still interested. :)
At this point, I think I'll just hold out. If I could have gotten one in early April... Now I think I'll wait to see what else is available when Conroe hits. MSI, DFI, Asus, Albatron, Foxconn(?), etc.... maybe Intel will be the best oc/most cost effective, but I kinda doubt it. I do, however, know that the Conroe will be the best/most cost effective upgrade to my crusty p4 2.53@2.7x.
I can't wait! But I have to! Argh!
I think I want to wait and see as well. In addition to a great oc board, the quality of the onboard sound is important to me. But maybe that is the intel.
Do we know (as in "is it publically known") exactly when we expect to be able to buy a or some Conroe capable boards at retail? And also when we might expect to be able to get a Conroe?
I'm really starting to drool over some of the ES Conroe's in the F/S threads and I'm trying to be fruggle...
Hey,
Sorry this is a little bit off topic, but will I have any issues clocking a P-D 805 to 4GHz on this board? Or does it have an FSB ceiling for overclocking?
Cheers,
Suman
Count me in if it happens. I live in NJ and work in NY :)Quote:
