First sign of visual defects in 2D. I cannot run 3D at this speed as I am overheating on the core to get this screen shot maxing out the ram.
I do not think the oc tool works correctly on the voltages. It does work realtime if you turn down core till your video card locks up but I dont think the memory voltages or IO voltage is working/reporting correctly.
Unstable, just showing early potential max clocks.

I forgot to mention WOOOT!! 1900Mhz on XL!
Ok .. at this point I am very pleased ... temp peaked at 72 with the zalman on running this test.
Dunno what throttle temp is ... but as stock HSF and stock speads were hitting 69/70 I think this is well within limits... no visible artifacts, and as far as I am going to take this baby :D
I think I am also being held back with "only" an X64-4000 @ 2604mhz and Cas3 ram.

Here's my experience with scores to show that both the mem and core clocks are working with the OC tool:
I was able to OC to 600/700 and the core and mem could probably go higher but I didn't test higher as that's enough for me (for now :D).
What I did:
Install:
(1) ATI Catalyst 5.10b with CCC
(2) Installed Catalyst 5.10 WHQL WDM drivers ONLY (not the Catalysts or CCC)
(3) Went into CCC and set a bunch of things the pertinent items being:
(a) Went into AA and deselect app control and then select Adaptive AA and then reselect app control (which keeps the AAA selected)
(b) Went into AF and selected HQ AF
(c) Confirmed that the overclocking utility is LOCKED
(4) Ran overclocker. Important notes:
(a) Any core clock over 550 was done by upping core voltage to 1.2v
(b) Any memory clock over 600 was done by upping memory voltage to 2.0v
Scores tested in F.E.A.R. 1.01 Patch
Resolution: 1280x768 [16:9]
Graphics: Everything max except no soft shadows. 2x AAA, 16x HQ AF
Sound: Everything including EAX HD selected

Nice guys, keep the info coming :)
@ Bar81
I think the delay on XT's had more to do with the ram than anything else.Quote:
Why the delay on the XT considering pretty much all of us are doing that with our XLs with normal air cooling.
Guys, what Zalman cooler are u guys using? I don't want to sound like a noob, but is it safe to put Artic Silver on ram chips?
I have the Zalman VF700-ALCU.
Artic sliver is conductive, so it isn't wise to use it on ram chips, if some squeezes onto the pins ... (I think the newer AS may not be conductive , don't know for sure).
The ramsinks with the Zalman kit come with thermal tape, which seems to be doing a good enough job for me :)
Use Ceramique on the ram.
Have you run 3d on any of these cards yet? I'd rather see an average 3d run than screenshotting. SS on gfx is like digicam shots on CPUs.Quote:

I'd like to see some 3d as well. Hell even if its super p1 1m gfx stable would be nice :stick:
Heres my 3D. This is still with stock cooler.

Nice stuff gunit :toast: but we wanna see FUGGER do some 3d as he has at least 3 cards and all we've seen are SS.
I wonder when we will see some crossfire scores ?
Not for ages if you are talking about x1800XT - the only ones available right now are Golden Review Samples (in fact I have yet to see a crossfire master) - Dont expect to see one before end of November at the very earliest.

My Card is a real pain in the ass. I got the zalman Vf700 CU on it + OCZ CU ram sinks. Tems are 65c stressed on 1.2v. But I can't go higher on voltage or i get lockups. Clock speeds don't matter. And @ 1.2v i can only get 590 max. Else i get Artifacts in HL Lost Coast. My mem can handle 800 when having 1.25v on the gpu but i can not run that for a long time. HL LC locks up in 2 min. I can run 3dmark 05. But also Q4 locks up. So i'm stuck on 590-750 Max for now :( i expected more of my card. But it seems i did not get a lucky card. Its the most crapy card i have seen on the internet. Most ppl can hit 600+ on 1.2v.
And btw 1.3v almost instantly locks up. It needs a max of a minute to do a nice lockup :\. Can anyone give me some tips ? starting to get desperate.
I can hit 600 core at 1.2v, but my memory will not do any better than 621. try to raise the core while limiting the memory to about 600 and see what happens.Quote:

Sorry for the delay, I have been pre occupied on the RDX200 on the vapo and back on my Intel rig.Quote:

Im on my better card with MCW-50 waterblock, the pelt was leaking and I took it out. Ill start a new thread starting at stock speed.
no XT yet, just XL.
Lol This is what i mean :D these cards are stange. Same :banana::banana::banana: here with the lockups @ higher volgages and so on.Quote:

Owh and i tryed A higher core with mem on 600. got less artis @ 625 core with 1.2v But afster 2 min of play time it locked up again :( So that was also a no go...
The card may clock itself down because the artifacts are much worse at 625mhz than they are at 600mhz.Quote:

my bh-5 is like that, 3.3v and 200 is no go, but 250 is okay... odd stuff these computers, thats why i love new hardware, new mysteries to figure out.
Maybe the fan is running more at the higher speeds, if you're still on stock?Quote:
