i have made a little a little headway - by setting tref to auto and also setting max async / read preambe to auto which works out to 10 and 7 made a big difference ...
i am also wondering if the nvidia 81.85 drivers are acting up...i dont like beta anything but they were supposed to fix up fear..

Give these settings a shot. I used a 7 multi to test and just pulled these settings off the top o' my head. I checked for 3d stabilty and all seems good.

thanks for the quick reply - i will give those timings a try... i will be shocked if i can boot 1:1 @ 270x7 but there are a few timings different in your suggestion that i havent tried yet so who knows....
ok i tried the timings - and got a hard bios error - i had memtest turned on in the bios and right after the post screen it tries to load memtest and gives me a black screen saying unexpected interrupt - halting execution
the writing is jumbled a bit - assuming that is bad i tried some variations of your timings and notta - this stuff will not boot 1:1 for me :(
that was 270x7 btw

Andy: here is an update on the eb...
stick 1 in single channel mode in orange slot furthest from cpu maxes out at 256mhz 1:1 with cpu multi of 7x
stick 2 in single channel mode in orange slot furthest from cpu maxes out at 260mhz 1:1 with cpu multi of 7x
the kit will not do 256mhz 1:1 with a cpu multi of 7x... :confused:

Running a 2gb kit with 2-2-2 timings at 250mhz is not likely to happen. The load on your memory controller is just too high. To be honest I don't see a huge difference in when switching from 4000 VX to the 4000 EB 2gb kit. The timings are pretty darn good and I don't see anything with better timings coming along soon.Quote:

Do you think that there will me faster memmory from OCZ that can hit higher clocks like TCCD @ CL 2.5 or CL 3 timings and thats way faster than EB ? of tis this the thing to have in the upcomming year ?

Get them while the going is hot? I might have to....I have a feeling my SLI-DR killed my Ballistix.....these are better for the speeds I run though, so that's a plus.

I sure hope 270-280 is possible with this ram.
I currently stable at 250 with my PC3700eb and my ballistix won't boot even at 260 FSB so sending them back to Newegg for refund and buying some of the 2gb EB but I sure hope a 300.00 investment is worth it over my kickass 3700eb I already have

Finally I recieved my kit today. Initial results are here:crappy 3500+ winny doesn't go much more than 2.67GHz. Gonna adjust Trc,Trfc and other alpha timings later. Overall I'm impressed. Thank's again Ocz!

Andy - would this memory work with A8N-Premium??? I know some people has problems with OCZ memory and this mobo... Did someone tested it with Asus's ........ (put here whatever you want). I'm interested in running 240-250 MHz, 2.5-3-2-7 t1, so nothing extreme.
