Just Picked Up A New X2 3800+

ok now im seeing you guys running these 3800 x2's at thier defualt v-core or dammed close to it anyways and getting 2.8gigs!! sooooooo im back at defualt v-core seeing just how high mine will clock before i have to raise my v-core. so far im at 240x10 2400mhz 1:1 stable. im going to try for 250htt then 260 ect ect till she forces me to raise the v-core.

damm nice chip man hope mine runs somewhat close to that bad boy!!! whats the temps of your vapo at the evap and temps at core? i run a mach1 and my evap temps are -44c/-47c idle and -33c load....

Well these chips seem to like low volts so start there and see how far you can take it...

Has anyone had problems with FrozenCPU? I ordered my A64 Mod Kit to mount my Mach1 on Monday and told them that I needed it no later than Wed. Well I pd the extra for the shipping and Wed came and no mod kit. I checked their website and there wasnt a tracking# for FedEx. So I called them on Wed and the guy told me he would call me back and let me know what was going on. Well Thursday came and no call and no Mod Kit. So I then called them again and a diff guy answered and said that he would look into it and call me back and would send me the tracking#. Well what day is it now,,,,, oh yeah its FRIDAY and no call and no show. WTF I called again today and the girl that was there all by herself said if I ordered it on Monday then there is at least a 2 day lag cuz they order the kit from another place and they ship it from there and that I wouldnt have it till Friday anyway. I told her that it was Friday and it wasnt here and I was told I would have a tracking# and several call backs and nothing has been done. She says that she isnt even sure it was sent cuz they dont any contact with the place they order it from. They can only email them and wait. So its looking like I am out about $120. I told her I wanted them to ship me a new one overnight and she said they cant cuz of Saturday del. WTF!

So it looks like my weekend is going to suck cuz I was planning on hooking up my Mach and messin with it all weekend. I am about to hit the hardware store and make something. Oh well what can you do. I learned my lesson! I will never use FrozenCPU ever again!

As far as my evap temps I am at about -40 to -35C according to the vapo. The Core is about -21C (idle) and ends up about -7C when fully heated up :) All in all better specs than my FX.

I haven't had anytime to test 3.1, but I will soon !

damm dude sounds like they dont have the kit and are tryin to buy time. ive heard of this place thru the phasechange section so im sure your not going to get screwed your just going to have to wait... good luck man it must be killing you with a phasechange unit and no kit! hey go into the phasechange section theres guys in there that can show you how to make a mounting set up for that mach1 and your X2.

yeah thx man thats spot on with my temps. i thought the vapos got colder then that? im wanting to buy a vapo but im going to see what one i need to get colder then this mach1....

ok guys i got my 3800 x2 running at 260x10 2600mhz defualt v-core. would be nice if i could get 2800mhz out of it at the defualt v-core. that would be a nice chip. oh well for now its 2600mhz....

Perc, I actually was a bit off on the evap temps. My Vapo is saying -47C idle(it was late last nite when I posted ;) ). The other temps are a little different but vary. About -26 to -21C on the chip idle, -9 to -6C load. This is at 1.6V on the chip. But it does seem our temps are very close.

I went over to PC Club today and saw that they had some new X2 3800's. So I was looking at the stepping and they had one of these

I am wondering if anyone has this stepping and if so what are you getting out of it...... Please reply if so cuz its sitting right next to me.... Thank you.

i bet you two dollars those new steppings arent going to be as good as the ones you just got from there! for some reason i think we are going to start seeing a few people getting new steppings that arent over clocking like the frist few batchs did... i mean something this good cant last forever right?

I've just got one of that stepping. So far I'm primestable at 250X10 at 1,47V HS removed, on an Zalman 7700Cu. Temps are ca. 33 idle and 48 load when priming. I think I can get it stable at 260 before the temps are getting too high with this cooling. One of the cores are far weaker than the other, unfortunatly. I suspect that this stepping is 4400+ that didn't make the cut, since I so far only have seen 4400+ with 0529RPMW when searching with Google. Both MaxCaseTemp and Lavalys recognize it as an Toledo also.

how high can you go before leaving the defualt v-core? so far with my CDBHE 0527UPBW im at 2600mhz using defualt v-core. also i was thinking the same thing about failed 4400/4800 cores and what they would wind up doing with them? i know the 4400 comes in both manchester and toledo cores so its verry possible to get a failed 4400 manchester as a 3800.

I haven't tested exactly how far it goes on default Vcore 1,312V, but I primed 8 hours without errors at 2400 with 1,36V.

Update on FrozenCPU they called me this morning finally to tell me that it wasnt mailed till today. That I wouldnt have it till Wed. The funny thing is they order it from Hardwaregods.net. I was going to order it from there but FrozenCPU had better shipping prices. That will teach me for trying to save money! :( So I will have it on Wed. (only a week late) then I can test out my other X2 E6 and see if its a good clocker cuz I know of E4 is. Hmm maybe if the E6 is a good clocker I'll sell the old E4 X2 oh well I dont know....

ok this chip is realy making an impact on me. damm thing just love over clocking its a match made in heven... heres a screen of it at 270x10 1.36v gotta love that...

this is abit off topic ... what proggie are u guys using to display the clockspeed,temps and voltage :)

most ppl here use motherboard monitor 5 (mbm) - i for one do not really like the program all that much and i tend to use lavalys everest to display my temps/speeds etc

im using cpu-z and mb5 to detect my clock speed and all that as pictured in my screen shot. there are a ton of progs out there and depending on what mb you run some come with a decent temp prog just gotta look at your mb cd.

thx man. well im 2 hours into primming at 2700mhz 1.36v and so far so good. im going to let it run til morning that will be a good 12 hours...

*edit* ok 7 hours later im 9 hours 24 mins and 270x10 at 1.36v is prime stable! this ofcourse is good news for me :)

just got mine from monarch around an hour ago - cpuid says its sh9-e4 so i guess that means its not an e6 (duh). ada3800 daa5cd ccbwe 0529spmw. boot it up at default, ok, now i am at 10x250 @ 1.36v. when i run anything like super pi, the temps go from like 34c to 56c instantly (xp90/medium panaflo) i will swith to a tornado for now, and look into some watercooling. i will post anything interesting, and when i get my evga 7800gt/free sli mainboard combo in a day or 2 i will put my tccd back in(this excellent ultra d wont boot with 2 stix tccd in) and try for some decent oc

edit - downloaded newest cpuid and it shows as jh-e6 so it is an e6. now @ 10x2700 @ 1.4v 8meg super pi stable. havent tried any higher than 8 meg yet.

Its lookin good make sure you setup 2x prime and 2x super pi so you are testin both cores. CD means you have an E6. Post some ss's as soon as you can I would like to see what you are getting.... Good luck!

Looks good, but your Vcore is low so that tells me you're temp limited. IHS removed + WC will work wonders, i promise.

I would also watch the PWMIC area cuz if those temps get to hot it will cause instability.

How do you cool this PWMIC area? Cause i've already slapped 2 OCZ small copper memory heatsinks on that IC right next to the ATX connector and a 120mm fan blowing on the area and it still will climb past 51C durring load just for one CPU..If i let both cores prime it will get up to 67C!!!

What I did was put a little HS on the ic which you already did but I also put a fan blowing on it. Mine doesnt go over 47c now. Try it cuz it will help! I hit a wall around 2.85 or so and when I did this I went to 2.95. What kind of volts are you running cuz thats gonna be the cause of the high PWMIC temps.

I have a 120mm fan blowing on it now.. ofcourse it aint putting out much CFMs.

I have the voltage at 1.64.. I have it that high cuase thats what the sucky 2nd core needs to be happy atm.

Oh i do have the 5v line enabled for the vdimm and am pumping 3.5v into my old BH-5 ram... though that nexr bothered it before this CPU.

I have still to find the bottom of the first core as its happy no matter what it boots at.. no blue screens and gets in windows everytime.

I'm thinking either try taking it back or rip the top off of it.
