Don't worry, I got my board this morning, too bad adaptor doesn't arrive till monday or tuesday. Gonna go for a big pata HDD and a new PSU this afternoon. Hope yo can continue benching with dothan and pci-e and change the thread header adding 03 and 05 scores.
Good luck with that. If you can only get it stable 3.5G+ with that board. I think it does not lock AGP/PCI so it's going to be a chalenge. Mayby by the time you set it all up new bios will comeout with a fix.Quote:
I'm not bailing on pentium m just yet. I have a few p4gd1's coming from the uk to run with the 7800gtx and dothan. I think this will do nicely in single card mark 03,05, and especially am3.
Hope you're right 'bout new bios fixing pci locks. Kamert had no problem going far with the board, it just needs more juice to chipset. Bios gives 1,6v max, with vmod and 2.0v through the 915P you are ok.Quote:

After 2-3 hrs of working with it, I finally got it runnin right.
So far looking very good on p4gd1. Got some bh-5 stable at 270 for pi w/3.6vdimm. Cpu used maxed at 2754 with ct-479 cooler:

Pi scores kinda suck, but I expected that compared to p4c800. Especially with winxp and no os tweaks or others except 5-2-2-2 on the ram. It's a shame there isn't a 915 tweaker. Just going for max bus clocks here in 1:1 with my hyper-x here, dont really care too much aboiut the scores.This board is going to tear up 03,05, and especially am3 with the 7800 I bet :)

Does it boot with 6x multi like P4c?? Same BIOS options? Voltage options in BIOS? Did you do the Vchip mod?

Glad they arrived, the cerial boxes were the only thing I could think of for padding that did not add too extra weight because we pay through the teeth here for shipping ( like everything else as well ) .
Shame the 915 is not as fast as 875 chipset, but it's still going to be excellent for r520 and to some extent 7800GTX I think for 2001.

These are really nice charlie. Very easy to setup. It boots with locked multiplier of whatever chip your using. I am not sure yet if booting below 200fsb has an effect on performance as it did on the p4c800, but thats what I have to do atm on air because I was testing with a 760m(15x). I boot at around 170fsb from bios synced with ram(340), and the overclock in windows using clockgen. Once I freeze it, booting from 200+ in bios won't be a problem at all I'm sure.Quote:

I don't believe the vchip mod is necessary for fsb lower the 270, but for above 277 I think it is(this could be board dependant, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I was able to hit 270 1:1 with only 1.6v chipset and an active hsf on the chipet cooler. The most important thing is the pci-e frequencey has to be set properly to achieve high fsb. Auto setting will get you guys nowhere.
Great job again andy ... We'll see for 01', but for dx9 3d benches it will do the job just fine. 03' and o5' with single card isn't all too cpu/system/timngs dependant. I still think the x850 will beat the 7800 in mark 01, but we'll see. R520 will rock on this board for sure.Quote:
