Well...I'm sitting at 2860 rock solid right now...think it's got more in it, but I haven't been able to stabalize it higher...with some better memory settings I should hopefully be able to...also, my 3DMark scores seem a little low, is there something I should be doing or optimizing to bump those up some?

310x8 running fine... 270x10/280x10 running fine...

Look at what my 3700+ is currently doing(attached pic below). That 10hours prime stable at 2700MHZ. What else do I want after 500MHz Overclock. That speed should be about 4300+ to 4400+ by AMD rating.
I want to get it up for 48Hours of prime, then I will back it down to 2600MHz with lower vcore for 24/7 use. That is a $300 chip at FX-55 speed.
What do you think about this thread? 3700+ @ 3GHz air cooled!!

My LE's also failed memtest overnight @ 280 2.5-3-3-7 2.7v also .....4 errors after 11 hours so i think they're the culprit here, more damn tweaking!@!@!@! :slapass:
My 3700+ cabbage is doing 2.75Ghz... 250Mhzx10 rock solid on retail HSF @ 1.58Vcore. 26min54sec 32M SuperPi, 3D stable 31K 3D2K1 on stock X850XT. Temp on core peaks at low 50's C doing prime/superpi. Idles in low 30's C.
Playing with various ram configes, I managed to screw my LAN totally. It's gotta be a windows thing, all forms of connection... NVlan, Gigalan, even USB wireless dongle all cannot renew IP adress from router. This PC is talking through router, so its still ok. Might have screwed up TCP-IP somehow on the Windows install.
I put the 2x Raptors in, solid 116MB/s 8.0ms access out of the array.... 16k/16k raid0. Time to stuff a WinXP install on that array.
The BH5 sticks were working better in the yellow dimms with 5/15-2 bios, the UTT's seem to like either yellow or orange. BH5 managed 245Mhz but UTT's do 255-260. I think my BH5's arent that good.
I luv the soft SATA cables DFI included.
Is that GO software the same as mersenne.org Prime95?

Many weeks ago before Venice and San Diego hit the market, I made several attempts to uncover and challenge some Venice previewer here in this forum, and tried many times to phish some prime95 result out of those "cherry-picked" Venice but at the end it gets pretty ugly, and in return I get a bunch of name calling and insults, even get banned for couple days because I was being mistaken as trouble-maker and also being accused of spamming and advertising... :lol: The 1MB L2 cache is not all it hyped up to be either, just borrow a Venice from your buddy or go buy one(you can return it later if you're willing to suck up the restocking fees), spend a day or two and swap the cpu back and forth on the exact same machine to compare them, see what kind of performance gain you gonna get with that 1M L2 cache, and you'll be in for even more surprises.. :D
Though I'll give credit where credit due, because in average the Venice and San Diego still clock a hell lot better than the Winchester, NC/CH ;) All I know is, the San Diego runs much hotter than Venice, so WC ain't gonna give you much gain, that's the main reason why I'd skipped the WC altogether and jump straight to Phase Change, if I were to stick with air/h2o then I would of get me a Venice, or stripped off the SD's IHS. :D :D
Best way to hunt for those 'golden' chips is through your local computer store, don't think microcenter has them yet but as soon as they have em' in stock I'll stop by to hand pick one to play with :DQuote:
