Where did you read that? 8c hmm if thats true then that means im doing 32 idle - 46 load... sounds better with the type of cooling I have, I dieing to test with higher voltages, but they said bios 1.8 read temps right, but temps have been the same with all bioses i've tested. Now i'm hoping for 3200mhz stable :slobber: :banana: :banana: :banana:

I've attach a thermal probe to the side of my heatsink where the heatpipes come out of...and i'm getting reading of up to 18 degrees lower. I have my tornado practically turned off. theres like 3 degrees diffrence between idle and load... even if actuall temps are 5 degrees higher... thats still good right?30+5 and 32+5...thats sound more normal my 3.0ghz c used to do no more then 40c with a thermaltake spark heatsink. whats the max vcore I should try?

I got it stable now at 2.9ghz with a small bump in vcore. I think I was undervolting before lol 1.450? now its at 1.5 and 2.9 prime for half hour so far temps hit 56c in mbm but morstly around 54.

Anyone know what happens when an amd64 overheats? does it have the same protections intels have? thermal shutdown or throttling? or do they just die?

However 4rory's LBBLE seems quite good.

There is shutdown feature in the bios. Set it to whatever temp you want.

Bios works on the assumption that its right. I was hoping more for a internal chip control. :(

Ok the rig is set up and i'm lovin it. Venice 3000 stable at 2.610ghz @ 1.488v (1.525 in bios). My ram is crappy kingmax value pc3200 and i gotta run a 2/3 divider clocking it at 186m mhz, it wont pass memtest with 7/10 divider (this is at 2.5, 4, 4, 8 timings damn it). after this point the cpu just hits a wall, 295htt @ 1.5x110% starts booting windows but then the hd shuts down and computer reboots. my goal was 300x9 with a 2/3 divider for my crappy ram but looks like i'm gonna have to settle for 290. any suggestions? i would post screenshots but i dont know how (dont laugh).

I'm testing with the exact same ram lol 3200 kingmax 2.5 4 4 8 lol I'm waiting on Ocz Rev.2 sometime this week.

To take a screen shot just lay out the screen how you want it, then press print screen button then open up paint and paste it, then save as .jpg.

so on those commands that say like "CPU VID" and then has a percentage, is that how you gotta raise the vcore on these newer DFI boards?

is it a percentage of what the current vcore is? What happened to simply raising the Vcore to whatever you wanted directly and not this percentage crap

There a bunch of slackers instead of fixing real problems like these dam temp reading they add in % vcores :slapass: :slapass: :slapass:

with the EPGW OR EPEW expect to hit about 2.7ghz @ 1.6v give or take. Just don't dream of hitting 2.8 or 2.9 ever.

My EPEW wasn't stable at 2.7.

Does anyone with a venice have phase? Just curious. All these seem like air and water. I just want to know if they have cold bugs.

That's on a very good watercooling setup (NexXxos XP, 4.5 lpm flowrate, 26 feet head pressure, huge radiator = 0.12 C/W on CPU).

Is it possible you could provide prime95 screen shots showing your stable speed, for least 3hrs (not blend?). I want to determine if our max overclks of HTT and total clock speed are the same. Im very close to your clocks. I have prime95 stability with a clockspeed of 2922mhz for over three hrs. I believe their could be a bios limitation in the clocking of the HTT speeds. I wont get a chance to test the new bios till Monday. I hope to see you posting even better results in the near future with the aid of the new bios!!

Ive also found the chips to respond well to small temp drops, ive found tht by increasing the fans to 12V, which in turn drops the CPU temps by 8C, ive been able to gain more stabilty at even higher speeds. I like my PC quiet so a 2902mhz clockspeed with the fans at 5V is quite alright

No phase but did test it under DI. BIOS reported -45C and my 3200+ was going strong up to 3.3GHz. I could run 3D and SPi up to 3.1-3.2GHz
