How did you do the second install?
It sounds like you tried to do a copy and paste into another directory... that won't work.
You have to run the installer 2 times to get 2 nodes running.

i need some opinions
which one is better to get
intel celeron or amd sempron?
what's the average candidates/day i can get for sempron 2200+?
NOOB QUESTION:
How do you run 2 nodes on one computer? Do you need dual CPU/core/hyperthreading?
yeah, you need to have a dual CPU or hyperthreading to use that. Rodzilla has an installer that will make setting up D2OL easyQuote:

Yeah, Hyperthreading does improve preformance, by say...25can around that area.

Ok I reformat/change hardware A LOT... If I delete a node do all the canidates go bye bye with it or no?

explain... My 9500pro crapped its self just a bit ago and I'll be putting my bench rig in my case for gaming/D2OL and this 3000+ newcastle will be dedicated D2OL rig as soon as I get a video card for it. How do I clean install windows and keep the same node? I just replace the node.prp file on the new format with the one off the old format? Is that what you're saying? Sounds simple enough...
I ment delete it from my list at the home page.
You just take the node file off your old install and when you do your new install, replace the new one with the old one. So I think you've got it

Alright thanks! I hope my single fan radiator can keep the claw cool at 2.7 with my 6800 in the loop...
hye guys, i may be leaving my clan wich leaves me withe a dual opteron 246 on hand. the only thing really i want outta it is the hard drives. but i also jsut for giggels want to knwo what it can do over all. before i sell that machine i want to do a month or tow of folding with it. so my qutesion is, is thers a dual thead verion fo the folding ware, and is there 64 bit verion? just to kidna look at the numbers.
no, there is no 64-bit app, but there is a dual installer. I think with a system like that, around 220-240 might be possible. I think your the only one that might be on this team with a dual opteron rig.
i have a quick question
how can i remove the dead node, without reducing my overall cands?
coz i do reinstall so many times, and i have a many nodes in my list
Pretty sure that once a node has any completed candidates, it can no longer be deleted. Just have to carry around a dead node. I've got a few of those.Quote:

and a bit OT, but terms such as "thing-a-mah-bob" aren't very descriptive for finding an answer. :stick:
I want to set up D2OL on some PCs at work but the network firewall doesn't allow me to download or upload the candidates. Is there a way of doing that manually?
Can you check with your boss or network Admin? They might be able to help you, but if you wanted to do this...install D2OL on them, then you can take the directory home with you and upload/download canidates. But if you install D2OL on drive C: then it *has* to be drive C: that you run the program from on your computer. Work can only be done once, so make sure that they all get different work. (You can't just upload/download on one install and copy it to all the work rigs)

Ok, thanks for the hint, I am gonna give it a try tomorrow. This is my only choice because I will never convince the IT guys to let me have a reserved port for D2OL. First, they don't trust engineers too much, and second, there are many legitimate issues about network security.
