Did you lower your multiplier?I thought i wasnt reasonable to lower CPU multipliers???Quote:

Well guys I just ordered my 3200 winnie from monarch. It will be here on friday. I will get the stepping on it to compare. It will be with my k8n neo2. Should be interesting. Be the first system ive built that hasnt been socket A.
I've got another winchester coming tomorrow, a 3200+ this time, will post some results. Good luck with your cpu racer.
To get a higher bus speed (Hyper transport). 260 x 11 probably wouldn't be possible and 236 x 11 is nothing special. He's running DDR520 at 260.Quote:

dnottis: I saw some other week 41's that did alot better than yours. i was seeing 2.8ghz from them. Hopefull you get good results
ctkp: thanks for the words of faith. but ive only had one good clocking chip and it blew up on me within 2 months of purchasing it.
I still can't break 2.5 ugh. Can't prime at 2.6... I'm stuck at the same spot. this is the 4th winnie. I'm done :( I can superPI 8M but can't prime for more than a minute and it dumps.
Are u sure its not your settings that are holding u back? Have u tried swapping it with better cooler to see if it is temps that are holding u back? Maybe u are feeding it with too little volts (Neo2 undervolts by 0.1v) Try giving it 1.6v measured from Z-cpu. Ram timings too tight? Try using multipliers to relax the mem timings to find out max speed of cpu first.
Sorri if I insulted u with these 'newbie' suggestions ... just trying to help :D
OCZ 520 Watt PSU, XP90 with 52 CFM TT Silent Cat for cooling. Running 1.63v. Got the 3500+ to 278 x 9 1.6v stable was the best I could prime at. Using Corsair XMS4400C25 memory (2x512) 2.5-4-4-8.
UPDATE - I managed to get 278 x9 stable with 1.55 volts using the new 3200. Still stuck right around 2.5 Ghz. Same as before. I don't know what else I can do here. I've removed my drives, sound card - only have essentials and I just cannot push it higher. Seems limited by something but can't for the life of me figure out what. Prime will fail within a few mins over 2.5 GHz. Either Prime just sucks or I have really bad luck that all 4 winnies I've had don't overclock well...
you guys should try 3000+ 0441spmw
it has much opportunity to get to 2550~2700MHz @1.36~1.42V

Well Im having mobo issues myself otherwise I'd have higher. Here is what Im using now

Max stabilitiy seems to be round 2.54 with any volts (aka mobo issue). Im gonna keep it there until I get a replacement

give it a try!

3000+@2646mhz,1.65V watercooled.
Cant gain more mhz with 1.73V :(
Maybe FSB is on the Limit with this Board.
Well I got my 3200 winnie today.. here is what it said on it.

I got it from monarch a today. Ordered it on wednesday. Im running it at 2.5ghz . I will have pifast super pi and 3dmark01 benches soon. Still trying to find out how fast this thing will go.
But sadly my memory sucks hardcore.. IT cant even take 230fsb at any timings... so its memory divider for me.
Well it appears that this chip tops out at a measly 2.5ghz.. if i put the htt one mhz above that the chip doesnt like it. and i tried at pretty much all the voltages... from 1.6 to 1.79 volts... ohwell.. its still faster than my 2.8ghz mobile chip.
Now i just need some good memory so i can put the htt up really high in 1:1 ratio
Just worked on my friend's mobo ... man .. its sucks big time!!
His Neo2 is only able to do up to 230HTT no matter the timings or voltages.
Its a good thing his NB fan is spoilt. At least he has another chance to getting a better board.
This incident has made me very content with my mobo which is able to do 315HTT .... :D
hmm. i wonder what htt my mobo can do...
I would be interested in knowing what that board would do with a proven high HTT CPU. I really think the memory controllers on some of the new A64 939's are just bad. The BIOS and memory controller have more influence that the board IMHO.Quote:

true ... may be just a bad chip ... my friend was in a rush to buy the 3000+ ... ended up with a week 37 .. which i think are one of the worst out there ...
LOL, i bought a week 37 90nm 3500+ that was a waste of money. It won't run much over 240mhz. Bah! ;)Quote:

Man ... I told him not to buy .. but he wouldn't listen .. oh well, serves him right :D
Hmm ... I will update more when he changes the mobo and gives another shot at overclocking ... just to make sure that the 'htt is dependent on chip' theory is true
