Now ET says we could fry our CPUs, capacitors and MOSFETs at 1.8V without proper cooling and that the 1.8V option has always been hidden. I don't know about you, but it seems to me 1.8V is a little low for motherboard components to fry.

You can also uncover the 1.8v option by screwing with ClockGen.

just played around with the newest officiel bios.. g8 one and with around 330 htt max bootup (3x htt) allthough the cpu voltage is flatuation quite a bit
ppl just wanted to say...
the 7/16 modded bios is quite good. goodbye vcore instabilities and bugs. just flash it, reboot, turn of your machine, disconnect power cord and clear cmos by jumper. it will stabilize all the vcore issues.

PS: cant you do anything about the vdimm? like raising it, so when we choose 2.8v it gives 3.3v or something like that.

yes like in my case...
i didnt tried it again but when i got the board i tested oc ing with clockgen but it frezzed everytime i setted multi lower or htt up...
so i didnt test again because it seemed too buggy for me so i go with the bios settings
htt 350 is enough! :D
PS: why u can only set vore to max 1.55 in clockgen?! turn in bios and dont touch apply fid/vid?
I get to 240 x 10 in the BIOS. I can boot at 267 x 9, but that introduces memory errors in Memtest. I can't boot at 300+ with the BIOS. It may be my chip, but since I can't select anything lower than 8x in the BIOS, I'm out of luck. Clockgen is nice and all, but I don't think you can use Memtest in Windows.Quote:

With 05/05 bios I can't lower the multi without total boot failure and bios loading in safe mode.
Will the latest official (or any other) bios fix this.
How safe is using Magic Bios or Winflash instead of the boot disc or Alt+F2 methods.

I haven't had problem ever flashing in windows. Just be sure you flash @ stable settings. The chance something goes wrong is very small.
I think it's even riskier to flash using a floppy, since that are the most irreliable things ever made ;)
Are you ever changing the HTT divider? Try 3x insted of 4 if you are.
can u tell us what the blue screen says? u can disable auto rebooting after getting a blue screen:
pc. If u get something with Physical Memory Dump, im having the same problem, but then even at say 217htt (x4)... 5/14 bios, tho 6/17 says the same. Even reviewers can do all kinds of benchies with the exact setup I have. But mine gives random reboots that has something to do with windows protection + RAM. Grmbl.. :x

I get the physical memory dump too. I always thought it was my CPU though. Since I have a 3200+ Clawhammer, I can only go to 10x. 10 x 240 works while anything higher gives me a memory dump. My 3700EB will arrive in a couple of days. It might be my two 512MB sticks of A-DATA PC4200.
