Alright guys its fairly safe to conclude that if you have a card with a 3rd line code that has been successfully modded then it should work.
I just modded myGeCube GA8999.1 and heres what i got compared to my modded Sapphire.I also ran some quick benchmarks and games to see the diffrence with the extra pipeline.
Remmber both cards are running defualt driver setting & speed.

BUT the default Nature scores I mentioned there were both ran on my everyday PC which has a normal P4C800-E + 3.0C NW CPU combo in it. So it shouldn't be the reason for the fairly high difference we have in the Nature fps.
ATI-Drivers/D3D settings prolly make a difference, etc but it could be a chipset/agp/driver -problem too. 70 vs. 87 is quite a difference considering that we are basically useing the same hardware (and default clocks).
If you get the Nature FPS tweaked to the optimal level it'll give quite a nice boost for the score too :)
You may very well be correct about the chipset/agp/driver problem, but between running standard CAT 4.5s and 2700MHz memory bandwidth on a single channel 754, that alone makes a huge difference. Since these cards are CPU limited to the max, and since P4s (even non-emergency editions) do really well on GT1 and GT4 this is also a consideration.
And seriously, from 520-530MHz on the core barely qualifies as an overclock.:lol:
It will take me a little time but with a pencil mod and some tweaking 30k on air on 2k1 should be possible.
Any thoughts on that?
Also, any thoughts on getting a 3700+ CG that keeps defaulting to 2T command rate to run 1T? This F1 BIOS sucks!!!

Hey everyone
My card has the number: GA9001.1 on it. This worked fine. Shows 16 pipelines now :) I have one problem. When I flash it with X800XT bios, and get in to windows, ATi Tool shows it at X800XT speeds, but Windows recognices it as a X800Pro. Is this just a problem I'm having, or do you all have it. Haven't benched it much yet, but after the mod I got a new record in 3dmark2003 at default X800XT speeds. 13000. The old one was at X800Pro@570/590 and was just over 12000

this makes me wanna save to get a moddable x800 pro.
Probably a combination of the way he flashed the BIOS, the way he loaded the driver and the actual driver used.
From what I have read, it seems that cards that have 0416AA and GAXXX9.1 and GAXXX1.1 have worked. It seems that these to "steppings" seem to be the moddable card ATM. I went through and read each post in this thread and checked out most of the links and that is what I have concluded.
So basically, if you have a card with 0416AA and either GAXXX9.1 and GAXXX1.1 in the "stepping", then you have a chance at getting the extra pipes.
Just my view on this mod for the X800Pro.

It seems to me that this is more of an optimization for heavy texturing. Perhaps this hard-mod converts the card to something like FireGL. Or just makes multi-texturing more efficient by better caching. But it's odd to see PixelShader 2.0 (for example) have such small increase wheras the multi-texture score is so much higher. Perhaps those additional 4 pipelines don't have any PS, and are just texture units?? This would certainly explain how ATI got away with such a low transistor count. Performance would still be higher because of additional texture units but just not as much as if they were whole pipelines. Perhaps that's what they meant when they called them extreme pipelines...

Sapphires X800PRO with vivo come with 1,6ns chips and NO laser cut.. flashing bios doesnt activate 16 pipes and painting bridge same :/
