OP:
Have you had the opportunity to try out the AGOIA "Z" yet?
Ran Prime at 1950, chip needs alot of voltage after 1800Mhz. At 1950 it took 2.08. Had trouble running prime any higher.

So Opp, the dude, etc..
id the Kd7 worth it after all this testing?
i think i have someone that would buy my at7, if so then ill have to buy a new mobo.
I haven't really put mine thru its paces yet like OPP has...my Prom will be here soon. Right now...I guess I like it about the same as my modded KX7. My AT7 never really did all that great for me. I like the KD7 enough that it will become my main rig and go in my Prom with a watercooled KX7 as backup.:D OPP can tell you more performance wise I'm sure.
well i like all the features the at7 has, so im only selling it to get a better board that i have have to mod. and im not sure if its worth selling my at7 and buying a mobo that wont be that much faster. so i just deside.Quote:

i heard in this thread someone had a prob getting fsb higher then 170, i currpurted at 173. so i was thinking of buying better memory, but then i might be wasting it if they board wont do anything more then 170. so i dunno. im allready gonna buy a new gf4, so i guess ill just work on a better monitor or something for the time being.
This mobo is definitlly not limited to 170, 200 is no problem with the right memory, I've tryed Mushkin 3000, Geil 3500, and Corsair 3200 C2, all of them did 200. Both the Geil and the Mushkin where alittle tougher to dial in but once I had the timings right they handled. A radeon with this mobo is a gamble, it seems the people that can't do 200 have radeons holding them back. Mine can handle on the other hand. I like the board and had it at 200 the first day. It was the mobo used to get the highest 3D mark 2001 benchmark for AMD up at the Orb, 18760 or somthing.

can you run cpu command decode set to "fast"? My At7MAx2 doesn't let me.... even at 166MhzQuote:

Nope,
I turn it to normal when I go to the 5-2-1 divider.
OPP
Same here... at Fast can't get past 170-ish fsb.
it's not good as it reduces cpu bandwith. Kx7 is another story, much better bandwith in my opinion and the possibility to increase it with wpcredit settings
It all depends on how much the the KD7 will acually do with normal. Think of it this way, the KX7 has a Ultra setting that can't go very high so you use Fast. Well the KD7 doesn't have Ultra, what if the KD7's Fast is just like the Ultra with the KX7, then the normal on the KD7 would be like the Fast on the KX7:D This could be very possible. The only way to tell would be to bench them straight against each other before we jump to the conclusion that the KD7 normal is slower then the KX7 Fast.Quote:

well I know Sandra is not so good but it shows a great performance loss because of normal command cpu decode. I had a kx7-333 and I could make at 195Mhz aggressive timings someting like 96% 91% in bandwith efficiency (wpcredit tweaked). With Abit AT7MAX2 I just have 95% 89% same settings (apart 2-6-2 vs. 2-5-2 on kx7) same cpu speed..... it doesn't seem to be good IMHO.
Try 2-6-2 on the KX7
OPP
I'm solding my AT7MAX2 to reget a kx7 and I'll post some bench comparisons :)
Yea I think your loss is from not haveing the '5' more then CPU Decode.
OPP
Me too, I'm getting rid of my AT7-MAX2 and KD7. I'm putting my trusty old KX7 back in the Vapo-Li.
Now I'll have to get a KX7 just to see the difference, can they take 2600 chips?? If so do they have to be unlocked in anyway??
OPP
Abit says that with the new kx7b6 bios the KX will work with a 2400 and 2600+
Thanks guys, I am running both of these boards and this thread contains some really good info!:D
Well, I spoke too soon.Quote:
Well I'm already working with the raid board so its a little late to bypass it. But the good news is I haven't had problem one. I'm at 200 FSB x 11 and so far so good. I should be able to make it at least to 2300, but I'm not sure how much farther since I'm on air.
The KD7 was great.
For a couple of hours.
It developed some sort of power problem and died. No power most times, occasionally lights would come on for a few seconds, then go off. I checked all the connections, everything was good. I checked voltages out of mu PSU and they were good too. But the old mobo back in and everything worked.
Now I have to RMA the KD7.
But should I try another KD7 or try my luck with another brand? A lot of people both here and elsewhere have had problems with the KD7.
I've been looking at the Asus A7V8X and the MSI KT4 Ultra.
What do you guys think?

It was yellow.Quote:

You Said it. You can just slap the thing in, and GO!Quote:
[i] glad Abit figuerd out the multiplier thing, it's great:D

The Voltages to 2.15, and Mem @ 3.25 is Sweet too!
I just wish I could get better Memory performance with it.... As Of now FSB for FSB The KX performs better for me....
I That's with the AIRGA XP2200 I bought for it... I hope everything works better with the XP2400 That's coming tomorrow.
Royd
well newegg showd the kd7 (no raid verison red, maybe Abit re-did the kd7?Quote:
