I've built 4 ud5h machines all with the memory in slots 1 & 2 according to the MANUAL and they all work fine.
Therefore: You must have a defective board.
Gigabyte has a little better idea about how they manufacture their boards then the cpu-z crew does. again the manual is 100% correct.
Also if you look at the pictures I posted, the ram slots are numbered the same as in the manual on the pcb between the msata connector and the 4th ram slot.
