still on air , seems to max
Thanks!!! :up::up::up:
I look forward to trying this new bios out tonight!
I'm up to 10 total x58a-UD3R Motherboards total now, still a few more to buy :D
*Edit: The Fc1 Bios is up and running with a Westmere-EP A0 on the testing bench at bclk 205 and looking pretty good so far.
Just ordered Gigabyte X58A-UD3R probably going to get version 2 , I hope this isnt the same thing as the ep45-udp3 1.0 and 1.1 cause damn did my g kills go to waste , also is it recommended to get any cooling on the bridge
Hi guys :)
Has anyone found the read points for the rev 2.0 board for Vcore VQPI and Vdimm yet?
My DMM is feeling neglected ;)
I noticed your bclk in your sig, Very nice!! Is that your 24/7 setting? Also could you share all your voltages? And what cooling? Did you have to do anything special to the stock chipset heatsink or just put a fan on it (I peeled the gigabyte covers off of mine)?
Thanks,
Ed
Hopefully will get this baby up by weekend waiting for new ram . . . she looks great like alll the new giga do , any recommendations or tips to getting it started

And the full results are in after alot of testing. The Fc1 is working great; completely stable @ 205bclk. Bios takes an extra .02v vs the QPI vs Rev 1.0's but as Biker pointed out that seems to be due to the Rev 2.0's undervolting the QPI more than the Rev 1.0's which seems true since the CPU's are equal. And with the different PWM systems its really comparing apples to oranges anways to expect the bios's to volt equally with a tollerence of .02v.
Happy UD3R camper here, Time to buy more (I'm up to 11 already does that make me an x58a-UD3R collector, connisour, or addict )
Your maroon username suggests to me that addict is the most likely and I also suspect that the moniker applies to more than 11 X58A-UD3R's
unhappy ud3r camper here...guys what the heck is the key to running over 213 bclk with this darn board? Should I be cranking my PCIE to 110 or higher? My board seems to go completely haywire over 213, and forget about booting over 218...its prolly user error, just need to know what settings i should be focusing on
QPI>1.4v
Skews 150/150 helped me get over 220 (as well as PCIe, but only needed 103/104).
IOH ~1.3v
Keep uncore & memory multi low.
Use odd CPU multis for better stability.
Hope these help :)
QPI/VTT undervolts by at least 0.07v (0.07-0.09 on my 3 rev 2's) so if you set 1.35v in bios you will get 1.275v real...
Also upgrade to the FB bios if you have not already... FB is much more stable than FA...
(make sure you take note of your settings - a bios update wipes all your saved profiles on this board...)
tried, no apparent help
Im on the latest FC1
ok i played with things extensively this morning...heres some observations
1)212 bclk with 21x cpu multi seems to be very reliable, as far as running linx, and restarting the computer, but as I up the bclk by "1", things turn south super fast...at bclk of 215 i can occasionally boot into windows and even run linx reliably, but when i restart computer or shut down computer and turn back on, the computer wont boot with those settings and shows the OC error at startup...and after 215 bclk, forget about it, it simply wont boot.
2)ive raised and lowered pretty much every voltage
3)raising PCIE to 102, 105, 110, doesnt help at all at least not at the 215-219 range which is as high as ive tried with that PCIE range.
4)raising the skews to 100, or 150 doesnt help
stable linx 20 passes with all memory
i like my board too now ;) . i was having too high uncore x18 the x17 solved it and its linx 20 passes with all memory stable now
bigger uncore frequency makes very big difference on superpi times etc. when i use x17 uncore vs x18 i can overclock more stable but cant get any real perfomance more
And the numbers keep growing... 13 or 14 x58a-UD3R's now (I lost count )
With the Fc1 BIOS and my A0 stepping westmere's I have run into an odd thing from time to time where when the boards are powered up right after posting they says "recovering lost DRAM size" or a similar msg then they just shutoff and restart again again. Letting them sit for a minute or two helps, some times i've had to swap CPU's and clear cmos and do a voodoo dance then they work again. I've had this happen at Overclocked settings as well as at stock settings. And this is with Rev 2.0's of course.
*edit for picture snapped milliseconds before automatic reboot. The bios settings were stable for days at 100%.

I just got a new UD3R REV 2.0 (now upgraded to Fc1 bios), to replace a dead EVGA Micro, and I'm having trouble going higher than 210 bclk.
Could anybody provide me some tips:
Which voltage should I be increasing more for >210 bclk? Once I hit 211, I start bluescreening in windows. My voltages right now, as set in bios:
QPI/VTT: 1.375
CPU vcore: 1.35
CPU PLL: 1.6
ICH Core: 1.32
IOH Core: 1.3
QPI PLL: 1.3
21x19
Uncore: 3780
RAM: 1680

Ultimately I am hoping to get to 220x19, if at all possible.
Could be the board's IOH chip holding you back.
@ acebmxer...
How much vtt are you running for your 4.5GHz stable o.c. shown in your link ?
so I have looked at ud3r and ud7 thread not sure where to post , as i have x58a-ud5, so i decided to post here as they mostly the same bios.
looking at some of the posts, guys is hitting under 70c with 4,4ghz on air cooling i just cant seem to get that on my h50.
using i7 920 Do 3849A826
setting im using:
vcore underload for 4.2ghz 1.24v (ht on)
for 4.4ghz 1.344v(ht off)
use level 1 llc
taken from cpuz
vtt:1,23v
ppl: 1.8V tried 1.5
ram : 1.6v
ioh: 1.2
bios:f6k
rest of the settings is just bit higher then stock.
so i am hitting 70c on 4,2ghz with h50 push pull sickles flow r4 90cfm fans and cm scout case ,with r4 fans also.Running prime 95 large fft.
4.4ghz gets to 76c+.
so i was wonder is just h50 that is crap ,or the cpu?
considering im running extremely low volts for 4.2ghz it seems weird.
any help would be grateful, i am getting tx4 thermal paste in few weeks time, using some deepcool stuff at the moment.
