Hmmm Me likey the HT challenge.....
Reminds me of the good old days when FX chips were way way way out of my price range
I added a 17x run. I will try a 10x next. I have ram that does not like real low dividers so we'll see how it goes.

I thought its only using the 10x and 17x multi?.........should have used that for the test
oh crap. I used 14 x not 10.. I am dumb.
well, i'll fix that soon.
I hope I included everything on the picture... got a low overall score due to my 4830, but at least htt is @ 345:
edit: sry for the double cpuz window, i forgot to switch to the memory tab..

Nice run beta. What was your memory speed and timings?
thanks theoldtimer, ram was @ 1380 cl7 (1:2), the nb I dont remember, I was half asleep during testing :)
Seems this bios I updated to to get c3 compatability has killed HTT overclocking........with the 0903 I could at least go up to 295mhz.........now with this 1303 The most I can boot from the bios is 210mhz and using AMDOD the most I can get is 250.....251 locks up.
Ive tried changing memory/nb/cpu speeds and voltages to no avail over the past 3 hours.
Ive also tried on Vista and windows 7.

well here are some of my results so far :yepp:
ambient is 70F and this is in my closed case with xig s1283 and scythe ultra kaze @ 3000rpm
in the next few days i will go back at the 17x multi with some actual cold air, i just cant tonight. (edited with some new 17x multi scores)
all done on windows 7 64bit
got runs with 10x multi @ 300htt, 310htt, 320htt, 330htt, 340htt, 345htt (1st pic below), 349, 350, 351htt all crashed within seconds after applying in AOD (some interesting scores as i had to change nb multis and ram dividers etc between some runs)
i think i need to get it a little colder to get 250+htt on 17x multi... i did get 17x multi with 245htt
EDIT: just ran a few more with some cold air using 17x multi - got up to 255htt = 4335mhz CPU w/ 2800mhz NB (new 2nd pic below)
also notice how much the 4870x2 scores went up with more cpu speed :)

Nice runs man
On a side note...
Using the 10x multi I have to limit my NB to 2500mhz to keep in line with the cpu at 2500mhz and my 250mhz HTT limit
I can boot to windows with the copu at 2ghz and the nb at 2.8ghz and run 3dm06
If I try to raise the HTT to 250 and try to keep the nb around 2700-2900 the system hangs and reboots due to the fact that AMDOD doesnt like nb higher than cpu
Also If I have the cpu at 2ghz and the nb at 2.8ghz and I try to open AOD it will automatically set a higher multi to get the cpu above the NB.
just a couple notes Id like to make people aware of
Ugh....:(
I cannot compete here unless i get a bios that will allow more bus speed.
Definately a bios issue, already flashed back from bios 1003 to 0503 without result.
Wondering what others will get with this crosshair III. 345 busspeed is awesome.
What voltage do you guys set for chipset?
Which is the right bios?
Thanks man, no need for asking the user, it was in the screenshot. ;)
I was stuck around 255 HTT. Upping the NB (chipset) to 1.2 (+.1v) got me up to 311 HTT stable enough to run 3D06...
Heres the SS @ 311Htt

I think Im officially out of this AOD is not working properly.
as an example I can boot to windows at 285HTT Once in aod if I move the slider down even 1 mhz the system will freeze. Im good to 295mhz from the bios but any movement I make in aod causes a hard lock:shrug:
Titan,
This particular part of the test is not about how "good" you look while getting a result. Its just about getting a result at high HT.
Try killing all devices in bios and drop everything down.
Take a break and take another crack at it later.
Try the asus OC utility that came with your board ( if it came with one ) or try an older version of AOD.
Good luck.
..omg, with busspeed i have not much chance:shrug:, my BIOS (or board) is not good for higher buspeeds, amybe 240-250 max.
This is most certainly the jam you need to play when benching like this as board death and or HD is imminent.
Plus the jam is sick

Simon your killing me with this 10 multi, chips running out of gas clock wise.
Will get the data you need in the future.

Crap! I'm struggling for 300 and you're doing 400 easy as pie.
Back at it tonight for sure. :)
