I just bought an Asus P6T Deluxe of course, a i7 920 and 3x2Gb G.Skill 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24.
I was messing around with the bios, trying to get some nice numbers, was pretty hard with the stock bios, so i downloaded and updated to the last bios version. Anyway, the best i got was 189x20 = 3780Mhz. Of course i wanted to hit 200 BCLK, but its impossible to go past 189... i raise it to 190 and i dont even get a POST. It doesnt mind if i try with a lower multi, 190x19, 190x18 or even 190x17 wont even POST. But of course, at 189 i have no problems at all.
Turbo Mode its disabled, im testing so the vCPU is 1.35v, the CPU PLL is 1.96 and QPI/DRAM 1.35.
Just to try, i enabled Turbo Mode later, it boots without problem, and i can run Super Pi 32M and 3dMark06 at 21x189 = 3969Mhz...
Whats the problem here? :S Is there any way to go past this 189 BCLK wall im hitting? >.<
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Might be the CPU who's hitting this wall and not the p6t? Damm if i got a bad batch :(
