My system for the review was a Q6600 with a 260 GTX and I was able to set the graphics to 1920x1200 with details at Enthusiast level (basically the same as very high from before).
The game not only looked amazing but it ran around the 35-50fps mark.
Anyone with a 8800GTS or higher will be able to enjoy Crysis at high resolution with the eye candy on full.
For those with slightly less impressive hardware, you can comfortably use Gamer setting, which increases frame rates by a good 20%. You do lose a little of the image quality obviously but it’s still very impressive.

Finally, Crysis all max @1920x1200 with 60fps is a reality. :D
Sweet sounds awesome. My archaic PD820+8800GT+3GB DDR2 can handle this latest iteration, and at 1600x1200. :D
they shouldn't disable very high settings, the game looks absolutely stunning although unplayable with anything below a 4870x2 or gtx 280's sli. Anyways the game makes consoles look like :banana:
I wouldn't be so sure!
We don't know is it all same and is it everyone cvar under previous "very High" same now with "Enthusiasts"... CryEngine 2 has hundreds of cvars and mine guess is that devs done some tweaking so that finall result is similar appearance, but with better framerate...
For example "very High' settings for the "Shaders" option is combining five or six different shaders, and apply "very High" to all of them! In the new "Enthusiasts" profile it's not necessary that all of those shaders are set up as "Very High"! Same goes for all the others options with in the graphics settings!
hi

thats the same Fps we get in Crysis 1 with same card and same settings !
maybe the game is not well optimized for ATi cards YET (like crysis 1, only few weeks later they released a Patch with +performance for ATi cards )

ive been looking forward to this game for a while....
i'll be picking my copy up @round noon :)
Another twimtbp hack job, where are the performance gains!!!Oh I know it's only for Nvidia hardware.Ill pass:down:
Some other screens.
As for Nvidia and Crysis all I can say is congrats Nvidia!.....and this comes from a ATi 4850 user.
Well, i pre-ordered my copy off Amazon this morning :)
Plus, i'd like to see how optimised the engine is with the same custom CVAR's i'm using for Crysis...
So do these optimizations in Warhead mean the original Crysis campaign sees the same performance improvement as well?
Nope - the two are separate products, although bernd diemer said they MIGHT backport them.
Steam have it available for preinstall before it goes active in 1.4days, $29
Nomad pre-ordered the game through Steam. :D

Is it plagued with DRM like previous EA titles?
Why do you think you have to run the highest quality settings?!
Just because the game offers the option to sport better graphics than in any other game, does NOT mean that this (or any other) game engine is able to produce processing power out of thin air!
That your system isn't able to draw a hundred trillion shaded texels with 60 Hz is not the fault of the game!
It's not been released yet for anything other than preload - so unless you've magically unlocked your copy on steam, you're talking BS. If i get 30fps avg at 1440x900 at settings BEYOND ultra high with a pair of 4850's and an E7200, then again, you're talking BS.
Damn AF and parallax on the road is still a no go :(
