real vcore dunno  as I don't know the correct measure point on the board
but vcore in bios was set to 1.725V
I know this might sound very high, but the temps were pretty ok, and the chip responds well to increased voltages. And I only needed it for a few minutes. Well, so far, the cpu is still alive :D
Still, 1.7v is an :eek:ing thought. Then again, these are $99 chips. Thinking of getting one to stand in for my quad (sell X3210, wait on Yorkfield), and pushing it till then - polished lid and all.
Her is my E2160 chip, hits the FSB wall at ca. 375-380MHz (doesn`t matter what I throw at it on Voltage on chipset or anything else and lower multiplier doesn`t help).

Stock cooler, and 1.40V in BIOS. Mainboard is a Gigabyte DS3 with P35 chipset, memory is Kingston PC4200 CL4 value. Not done tweaking memory timings and speed at all yet, 1.8V on memory goes up to 460MHz at a little better timings shown on this picture. :)
E2140 + Vapo LS + P5K3 + Cellshock DDR3-1800, weird but true :)

just had my e2180 (m0)
+ Gigabyte P35-DS3L
TR Ultra 120 eXtreme
533MHz crappy ram
i'll play around with it and post my results later on :D
Guys, I have exhausted all options and might need a hand here.
MB: Asus P5K SE
CPU: E2160
Ram: Random DDR2-667's
Cooling: Bigwater 745.
I can get 371Mhz FSB full OCCT stable, everything's fine @ 1.575v, but when I try to push it to 372Mhz, it just refuses to boot. I have tried dropping my multiplier from 9x to 8x but it does not help at all. Upping the voltage even higher does not help.
I have tried the BSEL mod, surely enough it boots up at a default 2.4Ghz now, but the situation has not changed.
Is there any other way getting past this wall? I can boot with 333FSB @ stock voltage but BSEL 333 failed to boot (it booted once @ 3.01Ghz then it won't boot again). I'm sure BSEL 266 (which i have now) will at least help somehow? But it has not.
I have lowered the FSB all the way down and ran the FSB:RAM ratio to 5:6, the Ram will happily run at 400Mhz no problem, so I do not think the RAM is at fault.
Any help reguarding jumping this Great wall of FSB would be appreciated, thanks.

Note that is cooled by intel stock alu and arctic qeramique
Seems to top at about 3300MHz @ 1.518v (330x10)

3400 is unstable even with 1.550v
The bus is not an issue here, i tried lowering to 9x the multi and i managed to get 340 FSB stable (didn't try higher than this).
It's not a RAM problem neither, cause they should be fairly stable at under ddr2-667 speeds (same chips of crucial DDR2 667 kit).
I think it's just a cpu problem; i could pump 1.6v in it and i'll get 3400 2x32M stable, but i don't think it's safe to run 1.6v 24/7.
Do you think it's a mobo problem?
These are my bios settings for 3400 (not stable):
Can you see problems in this configuration?Code:10x340
PCI-E frequency: 90MHz
C.I.A.2 = disabled
Performance enhance = standard
DRAM DLL = option 1
ram at 680 4-5-5-15 2T (subs on auto). (i'll tighten them later on)
Voltage:
CPU: 1.550v
RAM: 1.8v
G MCH: +0.1v
PCI-E: +0.1v
FSB: normal
DDR2: normal
Also, is it viable to run EIST and C1E when overclocking?
Thanks
i have the e2140 @ 2.8ghz rite now...
my board its a msi p6n sli
and i have 1gb team memory (timings acording to website are 5-5-5 15)
this is the core menu.. plz tell me what to put here to get 3.2ghz outta this cpu

Hi.
Is it ddr2-800 or 667?
Anyways: try loading defaults bios.
then put:
EIST / C1E: OFF
PCI-E: 100
FSB: 400
CPU Ratio: 8
DRAM: AUTO (timings on auto) - you'll work on timings later
CPU Voltage: 1.5v
Then run 2xSuperPi 32M. If you can't complete this, try lowering the fsb.
Anyone can post images for 200->266 and 266->333 pin mods for E2xxx?.
Thanks.:)
its ddr2 800mhz
thats why i wanna get up to 3.2ghz cuz then it will be like ddr2 400x2 (800) and cpu 400*8 and that sounds nice.. .
so i will turn off the c1e.. what about the HPET ?
keep everything i didn't mention at "default" :)
I'm planning to get a E2140 M0 soon. Is FSB wall a common problem for Pent Dual-Core or its just luck? I'm planning to get it over FSB 400. Thanks.
common problem at around 400MHz ( + - )
If you are planning 3200MHz, you should get a 2160 just to be sure
cheers
I don't have a problem with my E2140 at 3.2 GHz...Only bumped the vcore up, because something was causing it not to be stable, so i bumped voltages for nearly everything up, and it's stable. I need to do some tweaking.
VCore set to 1.35v
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=262110 <-- 24/7 settings...for now :D
http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=262487 <-- suicide. I need to learn this board first. Damn DFI's. I'm CERTAIN that I could push this thing higher. I am only on air though.

Those are my results on stock cooling, I don't wanna push it further until I get some better cooling.. has anyone else on stock cooling gotten it at 3ghz?
Here u go, some more of my results:

@Yamcha, i was running 400fsb under stock. :D
Yes air cooled, CoolerMaster gemin2
where can i get an m0 in the us?
