I used P35-DQ6 and P5K Deluxe and I like the Gigabyte P35-DQ6 much more.
Both are great boards, really does come down to preference though.

Hi Yenclas,
I have the P35-DS4 too, can you share me that bios with that nice performance memory boost?
My board comes with F4 bios and now I am in F5C bios but my memory performance is very low. With DFI 965 with same settings I scored more...
Can you try with that settings?
CPU at 8x400 -> Q6600
RAM at 1:1 (2.0 in GA) 4-3-3-10 -> 4GB mushkin XP2-6400
In sandra and Vista x64 my memory bandwith is 6700 mb/s.
Thanks in advance
I was right beeing suspicious about memory preformance....
Can you share that bios please :) (yenclas)
Has anyone had problems with the codec on the DS4? I think mine is interfering with my Gainward 8600GT SilentFx or the Corsair 520HX and sending out all sorts of noise. Either a constant scratching or interference whenever theres hdd or graphics activity. The most i got was today when it clearly increased to annoying levels when i activated the 'optimize for sli' option on COD2.
Just tried the Graphics boost option and lowered the pcix freq to 90 to no result. Any suggestion?
anyone try the p35c-dsr3 f3b bios yet??
damn just tried it
-4c on cpu n -5c on motherboard
i got 36c on cpu 1,2v 21c on motherboard +2 37c aux
memory performance is better too by .5 in latency n 200+ in read
all from everest cause easytune sayin i got 25c on cpu lmao
i'm @ 416fsp
i be gettin my pc8500 soon n will see how far this board gonna rock
TKS Pt1t
can i ask where u get it lol cause can"t from gigabyte they only got f2 posted
anyone able to run 500fsb 1:1 cas4 and run mbench? I'm looking to buy a p35, but only if it can do the above and result in <50ns latencies, and >9000 in sse read and write.
Here's the result to beat:
Access latency 47.9 ns (192 clocks)
Read datarate (INT) 8070 Mb/s
Write datarate (INT) 3751 Mb/s
Read datarate (MMX) 8712 Mb/s
Write datarate (MMX) 3773 Mb/s
Read datarate (SSE) 9158 Mb/s
Write datarate (SSE) 9131 Mb/s
That was 500fsb 1:1 cas4 achieved with my dfi p965
Hello,
I am getting crazy with my DQ6 and Corsair Dominator 8500-C5D!
Do you have any suggestion about which memories are stable and overclockable in this motherboard?
Thanks,
every gigabyte p35 (ds3,4,6) has a strap and low performance on high fsb?
Brama, I gotta agree Crucial Ballistix is great. My 8500 kit went as high as 1220MHz Memtest stable at 2.4v, and 1200MHz at 2.35v.
Logigamer, I don't see how Gigabyte setting the strap at a lower FSB matters to anyone that does plan to run 500+ FSB speeds, they would still end up needing the lower strap setting to begin with.
I played with the System Performance setting today, board defaults to "Turbo" with "Standard" and "Extreme" as the other options. I have verified there is zero difference between "Extreme" and "Standard", the memory settings & results are identical according to Memset. Anandtech verified this setting has a major impact on the DDR3 P35T-DQ6, so I expect a future BIOS from Gigabyte to enable this setting to work correctly and fix the lower performance the DDR2 DQ6 board offers right now.
Ziddey, the DQ6 doesn't beat those scores but I'd say give it at least a 2nd BIOS revision first. For the shipping BIOS it's good enough for me, I expect the performance-tuned BIOS releases to come later. :)
Thanks Kougar. If it ever does (and hopefully ds3r), I'll be biting. You fiddled with the turbo/extreme whatever memory enhancements?
edit: Kougar, I just read your info from the other thread about memory enhance. HMm... maybe next bios :)
Everyone can read here:

and report the results of my failing tests?

But check this out!

New option ROM, meaning a new Jmicron bios ROM, version 1.06.70...why the hell can't Gigabyte update the option ROM!!!!!!
But knbow what's :banana::banana::banana:ed up!!...Jmicron have a flash utility, but bloody GB have altered Jmicron bios ROM in their own bios a labeled it Gigabyte SATA2...which means end users cannot flash to a newer ROm themselves.
Damn you GB!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone using one of these boards tell me if they support 1:1 memory operation with an E4300/E2160, ie 800fsb cpus.
Im building a cheap comp for a friend, ive been looking at the lower end 965 boards, but getting a P35-S3 would give him 45nm upgradability so thatd be nice....however I need to use some crappy 667 memory, so having 1:1 would let me get to 3GHz before starting to push the ram.
Anyone actualy got an P35-S3 or P35-DS3R with one of these cpus?
Another new driver, for Intel Quiet System Technology (QST), nesscary HECI driver dated June 19th June 2007:

Yes, the P35-DQ6 supports 1:1 with 800FSB chips. The CPU support list on the S3 board's page lists E4300 and E21xx processors on the supported list since the F2 BIOS for that board.
Ashm, did you make sure to hit Ctrl+F1 while in the main BIOS screen? ;)
