CEBIT 2007: Mechanical keyboard from Gigabyte
If you are a user that has anger management problems, you may have noticed that the most of the membrane based keyboards on the market won't last long as you lay wreck and havoc on them.
The metal encased keyboard made by Gigabyte is one of the rare completely mechanical ones. There are no multimedia keys, or anything else, but if you need a cheap and strong keyboard, it might be your next one.
http://aycu11.webshots.com/image/116...7835833_rs.jpg
When the guys from the booth weren't looking, we stomped on the keyboard, and no keys fell out. Sorry, I have fetish on crash tests. So yes, it is sturdy, and as you see – it still works!
On the picture below, you can see the mechanical parts beneath each button.

Gigabyte DDR3 motherboards
CEBIT 2007: DDR3 has moved from future tech to reality
Key words that can be seen from any corner of Gigabyte's booth are All-Solid capacitors, Low RDS MOSFET, and Ferrite Choke Coil. Those technology improvements are just beginning of a new era of more power efficient motherboards (less generated heat), with no sacrifice in performance for the enthusiasts. Bearlake chipset could be used to its full potential on these boards.
The GA-P35T-DQ6 supports Intel Core 2 Quad, and upcoming 45 nanometre processors wit dual-channel DDR3 memory. At the time being, the board is advertised as DDR3 1066. The cooling has been redesigned, as you can see on the picture, a massive system that consists of heat pipes and full copper coolers, covers the chipset, and motherboard voltage regulators. Also, the integrated audio is the newest Realtek 8.1 HD. Of course, these boards are Cross fire ready, have Quad BIOS feature, ROHS compliant, and look really good.
http://aycu29.webshots.com/image/129...8353451_rs.jpg
Very similar to this board is the GA-P35T-DS4 board. It lacks the Quad BIOS, Quad eSATA support, but everything else is there.
And for the less enthusiastic users, Gigabyte is offering GA-P35T-DS3P motherboard. The gigantic copper cooling system has been replaced with smaller aluminum passive solutions. Also the voltage regulators on the board are not being cooled. Again, you will not get eSATA, or all the other Quad features from the first board.

CEBIT 2007: DDR3 memory sticks From Corsair and Patriot
In this little pictorial you will find most of the DDR3 modules that could be seen on CeBIT. Corsair has shown us their CAS6 DDR3 modules. They are operating at 1066MHz.
http://aycu18.webshots.com/image/122...9084870_rs.jpg
The second modules are from Patriot. These sticks have more aggressive timings than Corsair, 5-5-5, at the speed of 1066 MHz as well. There was no news about the heat spreaders.
http://aycu31.webshots.com/image/108...4953499_rs.jpg
The last picture is from Gigabyte booth, but no info about the RAM settings.

what a board is this and why does the layout seem so weird?
http://www.hartware.de/media/news/41000/41709_5b.jpg
damn,that Gigabyte DDR3 board looks impressive:slobber:
probably the price's going to be as impressive too:(
I am glad Zalman brought back their flower. The heatpipe one looks pretty decent.
That VF1000 VGA cooler looks very promising, especially cause you can chose from a variety of colors. I myself am going for the maximum pimp-age, and we all know what that means :D
________
Gsx1400
I *will* be buying the new X38 DQ6 mobo...screw the P35 crap...gimme the high end!
Question....will a E6600 work with Bearlake boards?
i dont get this. Zalman makes VF1000 to cooling G80 series. But just take a look at the base of HS , too small for IHS of G80 ??
http://img.techpowerup.org/070319/DSCN1251.jpg
I agree, maybe there will be 2 versions?? or something like that

4096 MB of memory for enthusiasts in Q2
CEBIT 2007: 4GB 1000 MHz or slower for Vista
The new DDR 2 4GB kits are on the way. The memory companies recognised the need for more memory as Vista eats quite a lot of it.
There will be two approaches. The first one is having a 2x2048 MB kits with DDR 667 or 800 timings while some of the more optimistic might bundle the 1000 modules as well.
OCZ for example already demonstrated 2x2048 MB while Corsair wants to enter this market with better timings. Corsair also plans to introduce 4x1GB kits with better timings.
Our advice is, if you go for 4 GB of memory you better go for Vista 64 bit as the 32 bit version won't see all of your memory.

pfff..this makes my new rig even more expensive, and i'm already at 2500 euro's...:)...so instead of buying around may(after the first price-cuts)i think i hold off until the 2nd price-cuts(if this is really true that is)
maybe that square is a thermal pad and the base is the round circle, still too small? I can't really tell.
