Until they open up GTL/Ref (if they ever do) then it will be very hard to reach the max FSB on the Quads. I have three Quads, they all act differently on this board, the same on the RD600 where each one needs a different tweak (the BIOS is open for that) in order to reach the same FSB level. Personally, I would be very happy with 9x400 out of your Q6600. :DQuote:

Hey FHP, ill try it tonight or tommorow, highest i got in 4:5 was just a little better then i did in my P5B deluxe, meaning, not so good, bu i didnt spend much time on it.

sooo...is that good or bad? Seems like the droop level is at Asus territory. I thought digital pwm was suppose to resolve that issue.

i would not say its close to asus droop form the mobos i have had from them also this mobo likes seems to like my cellshock > g skill both sets are 4.4.4. 8000 could never get g skill to boot 4.4.4.5 but with cell shocks got 4.4.4.5 550 2.2 v so far :)
this is not that unusual for boards...my experience with the Asus P5WDG2 WS Pro board was the opposite when the board first came out...shipping bios would OVER VOLT the vcore by point 05...NOW...the latest bios has it under-shooting the vcore set in the bios by point 05...in affect, changing/updating the bios code to correct one problem will some how change or affect other values.Quote:

its not nearly so bad as the asus... but its not perfect like my vmodded asus, that could explain why i hit a wall at 4100mhz, it stopped scaling with volts even though temps were still ok... i mean it would clock to 4150 but couldnt bench up there, maybe the voltage was jumping around. Either way it still clocks better then the droop modded P5b.
Ace - vdroop doesnt have anything to do with what is set in bios, and bios cannot fix vdroop. vdroop is the difference between REAL idle and REAL load voltages. What you set in bios doesnt matter at all. if 1.4 gets me 1.38 i dont care as long as it stays at 1.38.
you know, when i had my 5000W emergency generator running during a power outage, the no load 240V voltage had to be set by RPM to approximately 248 volts so when a load was put on it, the actual output would be around 240 volts...as more more appliances or lights were turned on, the voltage would even fall more; hopefully not below 220V...same correlation...your motherboard voltage output gets dragged down as you put power thristy hardware into operation.Quote:

I put the waterblock on NB too, so I've water on CPU,NB,GPU... Tomorrow we'll see if that block on NB helps me to run @ +500FSB... :rolleyes:
