I've been telling y'all that the quaddy is close to 300w heavily OC'd. Mebbe you'l believe me now. And I still haven't found an answer as to WHY the DTS readings from the core on a quad do not work at subzero. Drilling a hole in the IHS for a probe is not a fix, it's a workaround for something that does not work right in the first place. What I wanna know, is why does DTS fail at subzero???? Do we need to ask the mobo folks for a bios fix, or is the problem at a deeper level with the DTS in the quad?

Real hot. Guess theres a reason why ASUS and intel are good friends by have the crap ASUS vdroop. they just dont want ppl running high volts :stick:

They probably just don't realize the voltage drop in the mobo when you are asking it to supply the current requirements of a quad being OCd that far. 300 watts at 12v is 25 amps of current. It's no wonder that the traces on the mobo and the mosfets are causing a vdroop.

I'm suprised the traces can deliver that power and that we arent attempting to somehow vmod traces to take larger amperages! I think I'm going to end up taking a bit more capillary off this unit to expand the load a bit higher for you harv.

If anybody understands a mobo's mechanics, it's Hipro5. There's no single person EVER to have a better grasp on such things as he.

dies temps arnt too important really, if you dont have a good mount the pc will crash at high volts with any cpu indicating bad contact or condensation.

i have been running prime 95 for half of today trying to find stable OC. vcore has drooped down to 1.56v now and dies temps just started to creep, its noramlly stuck at 1c but is at 3c now load. so i would say that they dont have lookup table for these sensors toto display values below 1c.
with the dual cores after 0c they read 256 ( = -1c, 255= -2c) and count down. speedfan converts that to the correct temperature only in recent version 1.31. so i guess in time they will be able to read the quad core die temps properly as well (cross fingers)

s7e9h3n, i cry when i kill a mobo, OPB is a keen man to still run that extreme.
Hipro5 does some really nice work (specially his mobo mods ) i should really read other sections of XS other that the cooling section :stick:

Time to tilt the accumulator down more, the units slightly overcharged right now and the accumulator at idle turns to an ice ball (even over the capillary!) and I might be getting a drop or two of liquid into the compressor.

I'm not quite sure since I've never run 3d06 but if it's anything like 3d01, there should be a checkbox in the options to loop the test....

Lol.....I used to cry when I killed a mobo, then when I ran out of tears I started cussing like a longshoreman....after running out of cusswords, I now call OPB so I can hear that he killed another board - it makes me feel better I'm not alone :D I "only" managed to murder ~17 mobos in a 2 month period awhile back...I'm not quite as talented as he is......:p:

Any chance you can get cryo-tek to pay this thread a visit? Maybe give us some recommendations on capillary lengths for units around 1/3hp reciprocating and with different gases? Or better yet, the formula he uses for mass flow :P

n00b nice outcome with your phase. i would say add 5-6 more feet and then switch to what the charts say is the equal of your cap in 0.031 to see the dif!
i did a little search back and did not find what gas you use in your system?

one other nice thing i noticed, changing from r507 to r410 without changing cap tube or anything else is that i had lower temp 5cm before the compressor, (about 9*C lower) 6*C lower evap temp (i get temps at the exact center of the evap about 1-2mm above contact with CPU) and ONLY .5bar more gas in static (6.2bar before- 6.7bar now)
and the best thing while with r507 i had MAJOR liquid returning in the compressor with r410 i had none!

only drawback was in my warm room (25+ *C) my high side with r410 was 300PSI with 7PSI low side while @ r507 pressures where max 220PSI with 10PSI low side

gonna add a desuperheater this week since the temp of the gas entering the condenser was more than 70C with out condenser temp +7 to +10 above ambient, kinda didn't like those temps :mad:

I'm running r507a. I definitly am overcharged though at the moment. I'll get that frost to receed a bit. 6" from the compressor is -28C :P
