ooo looks very linuxy. Going to take some getting used to with the close button on the top left and the other buttons on the top right though :confused:

the looks are going to change in the coming days, so I wouldn't get too used to it yet ;)

Small question about file hierarchy: will it be like in the screen, *nix like with a single monolithic hierarchy, or will it be more Windows-esque with multiple drives?

it all spreads from something we call hier

kinda, depends on how you look at it

Will all the reportings be done via PM to you?

Would be cool with a subforum for testers... Easier for the developers (you) as well.

Do we get the option to, in some way, mount drives in directories, i.e. any directory, or is it some how predetermined where my bezillion of drives and partitions end up and are accessable? (Accessable added because it's nigh, not to say totally, impossible to get a file from /dev/hd or equiv. in a *nix environment, but all all drives and partitions still end up in /dev/)

basically you are asking us to use an unstable OpenGL platform to compete directly with Aero? When Aero is a couple phone calls away?

you have a point :D (though beryl has more effects and configurability :D (excuse me, i'm a linux fanboy :D))
(though it isn't that unstable ;) )

what about atleast a linux desktop environment ??
(i.e. gnome, kde4 (when it comes out) , xfce, etc :D)

if you would prefer for us to make some of our features portable to other operating systems, you would have to ask specifically and then we would have to get it approved.

I wasn't really that much of a beryl fan when I last tried it out, the minimize effect got annoying really fast. I still use plain old gnome for gentoo and ice for netbsd and find them to be much more functional and stable. Have you guys put any thought into possibly incorporating a icon dock in the DE?

if so, beryl is a window manager, not a DE :D

I browsed around at different themes and effects but none really suited me well, and no the second part was directed to nn, not you.
