btw, this os sounds promising :up: . cant wait any longer to see its gaming perf. i v XSOS 2.0 and cant install it using Virtual PC 2004, somthin like missing dll.

How much system RAM will this OS support?
Sure would be sweet to finally utilize all 4 GB...

I registered the minute I saw this post! I'm absolutely interested in contributing to this exciting project. I have about 12 years of experience with computers (mostly M$ systems), so hopefully I can be of assistance.
I have an AMD64 system and a mini-ITX 1Ghz Epia system I could test this on. From my point of view (may be that you think different) it's crucial to test this OS on a wide variety of HW. If I find it interesting enough I could also test on a Celeron system and an older AMD rig.
Anyways, I'm checking this thread every day now because I find this sort of project very interesting. Good luck :)
I agree that testing it on a large variety would be very helpful. Don't worry, there is plenty of space for Beta testing :toast:

im curious why does it require a dvd burner, cant we use regular cd's? If thats the case im gona have to go out and buy a dvd burner lol
Because our Ultimate OS disk isn't going to fit on a CD. It is going to include multiple operating systems, tools, and features. Yes individual OS's of ours do fit on CD's but we are suggesting this because it would make upgrade in the future easiestQuote:

Well I'm always interested in new OSes and a Windows alternative is something that is quite interesting. I'd be interested in trying it out, espically as a contrast to Vista, and helping you with it.

I see this is a *nix OS?
But at the same time I see it supports DX10 and Requires windows? And can run most Windows Games...

I didn't want a DVD player but then PC gamer started putting out the demo discs on DVD, now XSOS is going to DVD, well now that I have two DVD drives, its all good.
dvd burners are like 30-40$.. get one :p

hmm, i was experimenting with mojopac, a program that plugs into api (kernel level) to emulate your own desktop, windows setting, etc. but its slow. will xsos 3 take a similar approach?

if your talking about my post, none. it plugs straight into the bottom layer. kernel-level.
as for xsos, i don't know what type of kernel he is implementing.
