Yes I was able to RMA both and I will loose 65.00 dollars from newegg for the restocking fee on the 8500C5D:clap: But what the hell its only 1000.00 dollars in ram.

I can tell you this my ram will not see another 680i chip set:fact: At least not the current ones:fact:

The current reference 680i boards were rushed to market for the release of the 8800GTX and GS and for no other reason, come on people it was shipped with a beta bios:nono:

Oh yes the sound problem is real and evga has another beta bios to fix it but at a cost of performance:fact:

I can not afford to keep replacing:fact: expensive ram for the sake of being a beta tester for nvidia

I turned on my rig for the first time today and it would not boot into windows, everything stock and no OC, I had to reset the ram again this time EPP to get it to boot.

I said to people here on the forums that reports are starting to come in, but they rekon it is user error.

Its always user error until it happens to them.

I have another problem with this MoBo, i cant install Windows. In the middle of installation (When network is installing) installation stops and some notice about missing files on CD appears. I am crazy from this.

clean or change the install disk

if that fails try a differant rom drive

Disc is clean and OK, i installed yesterday another PC from it. Installation crashes on the same point ... it seems like windows installer does not see my CD-ROM..., i tried everything - change drives ... and no success.

That's nearly always a RAM issue.

Either RAM's not stable, or slot is bad.

Checked your timings/vdimm?

I am not sure, that is a RAM issue. They are good modules and on P5W DH works great, now i have timing 15-5-5-5@800Mhz...2.1V

Would I be right in assuming the new E6850 E6750 E6650 chips will all have much lower multipliers because of the new 1333 FSB than their current counterparts and therefore not be as useful for overclocking?
For example the E6600 has a multiplier of 9 (9 x 266 = 2.4GHz) but the E6650 will only have a multiplier of 7 (333 x 7 = 2.33GHz)... wouldn't that make it far less attractive for overclockers?

This eVGA MoBo is the worst i had. Some problems i have now:

1. If i typing on keyboard , system is beeping and when beeps some letters are missing - PS Keyboard not working properly, i have problems with CAPS LOCK too ... my letters are BIG or SMALL and does not matter then is Caps Lock actived or not ..., my keyboard is typing itself, if i dont touch to keys - some lettters are typed.... !!!!!!!!!!!!

2. PS2 mouse is unstable and is jumping ...

3. I still cant install Windows, in halfo of installation my DVD-ROM is missing and installatin ends ...

4. nTune does not work form me in my regional settings ...

5. This is the HOTTEST MoBo in ten years ...

Sorry for lot of mistakes in text, but i cannot to control my keyboard ...

I wish to say again, since I have been misquoted, this board did not hurt my ram. I have yet another new board from Compusa and it works perfectly in all regards. Installed easily, overcolcks easily, no probs at all. Bad boards exist from all manufacturers. It was my misfortune to get three in a row. I'm certain my x6800 will break 19,000 3DM 06 this weekend.(maybe) Bob

palese your rig is almost identical to my new build could you please post your current BIOS settings for your FSB, multi, vcore & RAM ratios & load temps

I would be very grateful as this would give me a good starting point to my overclocking

Hi mda96bjh I can't give you them until I get a working board:) I had a bad eVGA board so I did an RMA, now I have a bad BFG board:D The BFG did good until I flashed to the latest bios. If you have the BFG do not flash to the latest beta bios:fact: I had no keyboard issue with the shipping bios and now I do:eek: In the shipping bios I could run my corsair @ 1T by default but now no way:confused:

Let me get yet another board this week:woot: and I will pm them to you :)

I can see nvidia sacking a few R&D crew as i keep hearing some people have had to RMA more than once.:slapass: :slapass:
