can i apply any of this to my card?
tiro_uspsss you're welcome:) btw, what is your card gpu/mem default clocks?
is that a yes? me is stoopid.... default clocks, um.. well under CCC>ATI OD it says 594mhz:GPU 695mhz:MEM
tiro_uspsss ok. look first post on previous page. there is detailed step by step guide.
will do when i get up in morning... still downloading 3dmarks...
Ok, I tried using the same arithmetic operations as you did for your timings, by comparing you stock timings to the original. Here is what I tried with mine, as my default timings are different.

After I saved there timings to my profile and applied, then closed Firefox, the screen shifted upwards. I anyone has suggestions, please help!
ok so i'm running 3dm06 as i type - what settings SHOULD have i chosen? at the moment its running at 1920x1440 2xAA 16xAF
:banana::banana::banana: A BRICK! 100% CPU USEAGE... *its ok baby, here, extra cooling for u (points desktop fan into case)*
ok theres my first 3dm06 results ever
& there's 3dm05
still downloading 3dm03... should i run & post pcm05 results?
Dude, end those background applications! Those scores are VERY low! You should be getting >4000 in 06 and >8000 in 05 at least.
what settings should i run them @?
& finally here is 3dm03
see all of the icons in your system tray (bottom right)? They have corresponding processes. Keep them from starting at boot by typing msconfig in to the run dialog box (start>run). Then end all of the startup apps except the ones that you think that you need. Here is mine for example. I only have my keyboard buttons, ati tray tools (overclocking), amd dual core optimizer, and the vista wannabe powertoys app called taskswitch. If you don't have that AMD dual core optimizer and the other drivers and apps, then get them here:

WOW you have zonealarm running too....that alone takes up 25-50 MB of RAM, not to mention all of the other stuff. Go to www.tweakguides.com and check out the Windows Tweaking Companion: that will tell you how to disable all of the unneeded things.
Ok I also see that you have some of the settings cranked up in the tests in 3dmark, so set them to default, as that is what most people do (I do at least) because most people don't buy the full version.
dude i know how to get rid of all those things - its only 50mb ram - i have 2000mb RAM - i monitored my ram usage during the bench marks, & my ram usage didnt even get to 60%... i'll turn them off anyway, but i think its my settings holding down the score
do i keep ccc on?
try default resolution 1280x1024 :slapass:
not 1920x1440
stop that.... its turning me on..
JUST KIDDING! :-)
LOL I was just wondering.....but that many apps running isn't good regardless.....and if you were monitoring the RAM usage during 3dmark you contaminated your score anyway. CPU usage is a huge factor in 3dmark. You shouldn't have any programs in the taskbar when you are benching or playing games, like me (see the screenshot?), and I have 2 Gbs of RAM as well.
You're right though, the main thing pulling your score down is the high-res settings.
do u guys turn of all that stuff when u play ur games? please say no...
2nd run of 3dm06 with pretty much everything turned except ccc - my pc actually restarted during run when i had it (ccc) turned of - so this time i kept it on & it has completed...
I don't have anything running in the background that I am not using, ever. If I need it, I load it, and when I finish I exit! Now I don't know why your score is low. Should be pretty close to mine....hmmmm....anyone?
BTW the only application that I have in the memory in any given time is the Alt+tab Powertoy that mimics Vista: it shows a screenshot when you alt+tab, and only takes up 1 Mb of RAM.
You even have the same memory as me (amount too.)
u did say it should b >4000, which it is... urs might b higher 'cause ur vid card is oc'd (mine isnt - YET)... i'm waaay too lazy to turn of all those lil programs, & i'm def too lazy to bother to turn them back on - thats half the reason i bought so much computing horsepower!
having a second look - that score aint that bad is it? trans am got 4427 on his first post in this thread (1st page - duh) & he's got a C2D @ 3.6ghz ... i got 4457 - then again this is the first time i'm doing benches of any sort, so what would i know hehe
