dont stop now keep going!!
Maxed out at 363 3-3-2-1 with 4GB. (Most this board'll do).
Gotta review this memory first - then I'll try to get more fsb...
Hey Guys,
Mmm....using 623 bios, and could get around 380 1:1 with E6600 cpu, and GSkill 6400HZ.Quote:
I heard you need the 4:3 to get past 350FSB
But, much better performance wise for me is running 370fsb, but mem at 667 strap, doing around ddr-936 (468mhz), or fsb:mem 4:5.
Great results, 5-5-5-12, giving 15.1 sec SuperPI, cpu 3.33gig.
With single 7950GX2 getting nearly 177k Aq3, and just under 55k 3dM01
Bios stable, can run SuperPI 32M, Orthos and Aq3, all at once, no stability issues. Wil piost screenies if you want.
Kind regards,
MrBean.

Thanx.
MrBean what voltage settings did/do you use for 370fsb please ?
Hello Olle,
That be Vmem or Vcore?
I am running GSkill F2-2GBHZ 6400 memory (2x 1gig), normal slots 1 and 3 on board, and have voltage set for 2.1-2.15 volts. Timings are not to tight, but I am still managing decent 15.104 or something seconds on SuperPI, which is quite good concerning 3.33gig on cpu.
I am running 667 strap, thus mem running 468mHz (x2 = 936mHz)
CPU Vcore not to bad either, came down fom 1.50Vcore on Gigabyte S3 at 3.20gig, to 1.44 Vcore at 3.33gig on the Infinity. I am still fsb limited by Bios/mem divider issues, but at least cip is performing better.
Best SuperPI was 13.8sec with same chip and memory, around 3.73gig on S3.
So, cpu and memory definately can go higher, just bios maturity issues I reckon.
Let me know if I can help in any way :)
Mr. Bean, is your machine able to cold boot at that speed after being shut off for awhile? Mine can't though I can get similar numbers as you, with 0.05 less vcore. It will warm boot at those speeds though.
My current best
420mhz(FSB) Pass Superpi32 million on Bios 0731

Yes, it actually cold-boots. As I read your post, I switched on the Conroe rig, and bios goes click, click (onboard sound), then boots at 370fsb (3.33gig) and mem 468mHz right into Windows :)Quote:

Not the cpu, as this chip can Prime at 3.7gig on crappy Gigabyte S3, albeit with higher vcore.
So, still some issues with Memory controller hub I think at these frequencies....
Will need to await proper bios from DFI - if we will ever see one.

Now running bios 830.. didn´t improve overclocking over 731 or 623. But seems to boot every time.
Hmmm, seems to me that my cold booting issue could either be something that changed in 7/31 over the 6/23, my not using enough Vcore, or dodgey hardware. The first and second are probably what is going on. When something works on warm boot but not on cold, power or some bios function is normally the culprit. Thanks man.Quote:

try setting read delay in bios to 7, it helps to boot up every time then...
If it boots every time thats a huge improvement, they should add that to the release notes.:) I struggled with the last Beta bios before just flashing back. I want to upgrade my ram but am waiting to get a production bios that can do 450+mhz on this board.
Isn´t ~370-380 enough for starters with 11x multiplier?Quote:

I tried setting it to 7 and and I get a no boot, have to reset the bios with the jumper, even holding insert didn't work. I've tried changing it to other settings as well but it always ends in a no boot and having to reset the cmos via jumper.Quote:

Hi guys, bin followin this thread all along. Finally gettin to post.

I'm runnin bios 0830 no probs @ 355fsb. Can't go higher with this cooler. Seems the same as 0823 to me. I was havin those cold start issues also with 0823, i'll let ye know later if there gone with this bios.
what sig? anybody else with 0830 results, retail e6600 preferably
sig not showing for some reason....edited above post
edit: its showing now

Use dos, its safer. put it on a floppy & when you boot press alt & f2. :slapass:
