i see you guys are still fighting the good fight over here in abit land.
gotta run single channel for decent speeds huh,, man your still holding on to that pile of poop ?
gosh guys let go... let goooooooooo
lol j/k or am i ?
come join the gigabyte or P5B team (i prefer the gigabyte team lol)
I'm running 400Mhz FSB now but i'm getting a few random errors in Windows Memtest after a few minutes and i think it's the NB getting too hot. It's very hot to the touch. I've got a 120mm pointed in its direction but i'm going to have to buy something smaller to fit on it i guess cause i can't get in very close for this Big Typhoon. It could also be that this board just isn't doing well at 400Mhz yet too i guess. At 350Mhz i ran Windows Memtest over 100% without an error but then when i got in the 370-400Mhz range i started to get a few. My RAM is running 1:1 and it's DDR2-800 so it shouldn't be the issue.
*sigh*.... the last minute choice between AB9 Pro and DS3 shoulda gone DS3, eh....
Tell me about it. I was going to get the Asus P5B Deluxe and then i got to looking at the Abit AB9 Pro and it was quite a bit cheaper so i thought i would try it instead as i thought it would overclock just as well. From now on i will stick to manufacturers i know are capable of quickly getting out a decent BIOS update and have more BIOS features. This board is a joke! I finally get it running stable now in single channel mode and i'm still getting some memory errors when i push towards 400Mhz and the best part is this board won't even set to 400Mhz! I set it to 400Mhz and then 410MHz and it boots into Windows at 395Mhz. What the crap is up with that!Quote:

I need to make a few changes. Yes, that is a tide water cooling the CPU. Holds about 45c at idle but I will move it over to the north bridge.
that is a classic shot of a gpu cooler on a cpu... although using uguru my idle temps are 38-40c with denki at 7v on a ninja. not sure on load since i have wasted alot of time just tring to oc the damn thing.:slap:Quote:

the one below the cpu and above the graphics card
lol, thanks
The NB is the one with the pitiful little flat heatsink on it connected to the heatpipe and it's nither the PWM or system temp reading. The PWM is the voltage regulators and the system temp is i believe the southbridge most likely. The NB is a little cooker so it's probably like 90-100C lolQuote:

I don't know if it's the NB getting too hot or if it's just the board can't handle the higher FSB speeds with my memory even in single channel mode.
Be nice if these heatpipes go away until they learn how to make them properly.
Be nice if Abit would go away until they learn how to make a board and a BIOS for it properly. I'm counting the days until the DFI RD600 board releases and then i'll ditch this thing and never look back.Quote:

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come (AW9D-MAX). Really disappointed so far, I was hoping this board would be good. I have to agree with the NB heatsink, is that honestly supposed to be a heatsink? :/
time for me to jump ship. P5B deluxe, here i come!
Do you even have a Conroe yet dude? I would wait for some of the new boards to come out here in a few weeks and get one of them instead.Quote:

Foxcom looked good too.;)Quote:
