Hi Strang_man- we have almost identical scores and config there! I could only get one mHz more when I removed my jumper on 8RDA+. I posted a link above where it helped alot though. Its only the newer stepping north bridge that likes 166FSB CPU, the older ones like 133FSB CPUs. I have not tried doing both mod and jumper but you are welcome to try.
actually, i'm at 9/4/4/3 right now...the system keeps rebooting at 7/3/3/2.5...i was at 5/3/3/2 when my fsb was 215 and below but i guess it just can't keep those timings at this speed. P95 stable at 220x11 so i'm gonna see if i can get 8/3/3/3. gonna get some new ram, maybe some twinmos w/BH5 chips (Hynix D43 on mine right now), then put my a7n8x-x board back together on my 2nd system....was running 225x11 but P95 locked the system after 20-30 min....a new psu is in order, too.....Quote:

i'm thinking about getting a rev 2.1 8RDA+, and buying another 256MB stick of BH5 from twinmos pc3200...

hmmm, sorry I wasnt able to read through the whole 12 pages in this thread lol, but I basically want to know what tools I need to do this mod. could someone help me out here and give me a step-by-step guide?

Nahhhh, piece of cake! All you do is close the 3rd L12 bridge on the cpu. On the 2100 Tbred B, it will change the default speed from 133(266) to 166(333). If you do it right, it will boot up as a 2700 instead of a 2100. You have to up the vcore to 1.65 tho. The 2700 (333) chip runs on 1.65v by default.
I dunno what it does on the 1700 Tbred b. I don't have one. I only have 3-2100's :D
I was happy with 11.5*215 @1.7v and 41c load on my 1700 dlt3c 0319, but now I am gonna connect the L12 bridges. All I have to do is fill the gap with superglue and use rear window defogger right? I did that to unlock an old 1800(different bridge obviously) and it only took an hour or so, but that was my very first mod of any kind, and I had never oc'd anything. Seems like there is a pretty consistently large gain in fsb when this mod is done. I saw the under cpu way of doing this, but it seemed like it would be annoying to figure out which pins to connect. I have done it on the top of the cpu before, so I am gonna stick with that.
I had not heard of doing this with 133 procs, only 166's in reverse. I am realy glad I checked this thread out. I will submit my results tomorrow when i do it.

Doing it under the cpu means you don't have to use superglue, it's much easier. There are pics in this thread of which pins to connect. Here is my diagram from a different thread.Quote:

Tieing the pins together with wire, was easy. Was my first time doing anything like that, couldnt have been easier, literally took 5 minutes.
And is totally reversable.
wait a second you could just put some defogger fluid on the socket between the pins. That would be even easier, I heard someone did that to unlock a proc. Either way I guess it would be easier to do it under proc, just 1 pass with the brush and you are done.

hey guys I know I'm late to the game but I got a question:
I connected the L12 and my computer boots 11x200. Is this ok or did I do something wrong. In the bios it has 3200+ or user defined as choices now.

nope only did the L12 mod. funny thing is I didn't use super glue before I used defogger kit. :confused: Oh well I'm very happy now, not only can I use my 10.5 (finally) I'm already to 10.5x230 (and still going)

Couldn't you just connect the 2 holes in the socket that the 2 pins go in? Wouldn't that be the easiest way? just 1 brush stroke on the socket per mod?
Has anyone tried this mod on a XP3200 ??..if so what was the process and result..im using a NF7-S v2 board and have 400mhz memory
you could do this with rew window defogger stuff right? What about just connecting the sockets that those pins correspond to, that would be even easier.
I did the L12 mod with a pencil. I guess I'm just lazy.
All I did was tiake an Xacto knife and scrape the protective coating of the surface of the bridge, then connect the dots with graphite. Worked fine.
i use 2B lead mechanical pencil to unlock my AthlonXPs too.
