And I suppose there was a little ln2 in the pot, lets say 0.5-1cm of ln2 on the bottom of the pot.
Printable View
yeah.... Its alot different than I though cos to reach say -120c, I had to fill the pot maybe 5-6 times or maybe more from the start.... then when I reached that temperature, even if there was no ln2 in the pot the temperature stayed there and I just splash a lil to maintain it.... With all the smoke I cant really tell how much ln2 is there but I think my pot is very slow..... I was trying to be in a 5c range but i was more in the 10c range cos sometimes i pour too much and the temp will go down too much..... I was only practising so I wasnt near my coldbug, I got as cold as -140c and still my e6600 was running..... for pactice I try to stay between -115c to -120c.....
I am also thinking that I made an error in my pot design, The bottom is 48cm wide and even though I drilled a hole thats deep for the probe, it might still be too far from the core to read accurately....
Sorry for the OT guys..
Nice job Luihed, wish I didn't have to sell my e6600 before getting a dewar. My last dry ice run was the same way, first run was the best and after that nothing but problems. Didn't get any tweaking at all, just one run to see if it was stable and after that it was a no go.
@luihed, congratulations on your 9.xx run. You seem to have taken to this 32m very well. Nice work.
@Gautam, I tried but results were poor. My board started acting up. I thought it may be condensation on NB but everything is coated well and was safe in that respect. At least it is starting to get back. (I can boot up to win and do 32m @ default) Still trouble with getting volts up. I'm not sure what happened but it was kind of severe.
@druchii, I'm sure you would like to try to get a better run to post. So much information here to use. I'm confident with some more effort you will do better.
I'll do better, just need to get this rig setup properly. Might dedicate Monday or Tuesday to tweaking the hell out of it, use one of the overnights to see if my Geil can do CAS4 @ 900Mhz. Maybe she can with 2.2v. My CPU is on it's edge though, any more and she falls, sadly (Due to heat, and what i can only guess is a crap power supply) Thanks though :)

Gautam, no, but I use cold water and if I run too long it forms condensation around the NB block. NB chip is painted though and I have fans on it. I think it started during the time I was working on the 12.xx and finally broke down. I checked my rams each as it would only boot with one at first.

Am looking forward to setting up the P5KE.
what?!?! your monster QuadGT isn't going to be 'racing' anymore and has been retired to stud? i thought you were going to sell it to me when you were done benching ;)
i'll trade ya my P5B-Dlx (vCORE, vMCH mods & a little bit of sticky stuff around the socket) for it if your interested...LMK.

dusted off the phase this afternoon and went straight for the sub 11min category. there is still plenty of time left to shave off with this setup. i couldn't get 550*8 to run with the 3:5 ratio (200 strap) for 913MHz so i had to settle for the 5:8 (333 strap) and 875MHz. on top of that...my P5K3-Dlx won't be running 550FSB PL7 until it receives some 'help' so PL8 would have to do for now. be sure that i will be back in this category after some mods at PL7 ;)

http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4...oard011rn3.png
we are talking about ~550-580MHz difference for 9.xx category and probably 650Mhz for 8.xx category  wow
it would be so nice if someone smarter or less lazy than me could figure out the efficiency formula that has no bias :( so we can compare relative performance on any clock
improved my 12.xx time a little :) :D

nice going there george
i will give you a run for your money on Gigabyte with 650+ on RAM for 11.xx category :D
Yep, since its inverse proportional, you'll always need more and more MHz for the same absolute time difference. I don't think there's any way to have such a formula. We can compare efficiencies at a given set multiplier/ratio/timings, but once those variables are changed, the efficiency will as well. When I was doing those runs I usually eyeballed efficiencies at the next multiplier step by adding the difference in performance product between the previous two, but that turns out to be too optimistic and is better for nothing but a rough rough estimate.
You guys are all making me damned jealous, nice to see all this action going on. Love seeing 3ho6 right at the 59.984 mark for 12.xx--that's the sign of a totally squeezed setup. :D I wish I had the time to do 32m runs on P35, you'd crap if you saw the kind of mem speeds I was seeing. :p: DDR3 is def where its at now tho...keep defending DDR2's honor nonetheless dinos. ;)

Here's my humble contribution for the 9.xx club. Did it this afternoon while testing the cascade. Guess it could be faster; but it's not a too bad one actually. :)
Was looking at is appropriate...all I have saved from about a month ago is this. :-/ Bear in mind that 05 is quite a bit harder to pass than 32M, I was around 675 5-5-4 and 660 give or take 5-4-4 but both of them were lacking in perf so I didn't bother with them and didn't take screenies...now that I think about it it would've looked nice. :p: 1M was around 700 5-5-5 in dual channel. Of course voltage was about 2.8v for everything. Right now I have nothing but a couple of sets of ram, a video card, a hard drive and a psu. No CPU or mobo. :D
determined here to open up a 8.xx category
fingers crossed if everything works out to plan on Atomic Live our team will have a nice little time for some droolage action....my E6700 can do the clocks we need :D:D:D:D:D:D:  :D:up:, got plenty of capable mobos and RAM so just luck necessary now
more to come soon fellas
What do you reckon it takes on your E6700? At least 5.5GHz i'd say with 600 on the rams or am i wrong?
