im gonna call zipzoom and rma this. right now i have few choices in boards. i dont want to get the ds3 cause they are coming out with a pro soon. the commando is expensive but i just might have to get it - has there been issues with that board?
i dont trust the nvidia chipsets. the msi doesnt OC at all. oi vay.

I'm probably getting the RD600 or waiting for the new 965chipset board from DFI. I trust DFI I have never gotten a bad performing or bad quality board from them as long as I've been doing this. So my vote is to stick by them... This Asus board has been my first non DFI/Iwill (they have had some pretty decent boards in the past) in quite some time.
my gf shut down my pc unfortunately. if i can get it to start one more time i am going to keep it on until i can order a gigabyte ds-3 rev. 3.3 w native 1333 fsb. i think at this point they have got the kinks worked out and i can have faith that even if my gigabyte may lose my oc during cold boot, at least it will boot.
frickin asus puts the cmos battery where it is the biggest pain to get to after giving us a beta product to test. almost like a slap in the face. bastards. its like WE ARE BETA TESTING ON YOU :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:ES AND ON TOP OF IT WE ARE GOING TO MAKE IT A MISSION!
the sad thing is ill probably buy a commando if the ds3 isnt available in the next few days :D

my question is
Why i cannot go 400 for the FSB stable, is it because of my memory limitation?? I try to push vcore to 1,55v and vDimm to the max and loose the mem timming to 5-6-6-18, but still not stable. It looks like vFSB, vNB, vSB doesn't give any improvement on my case. even i push vFSB, vNB, vSB to the max, still no impact on my OC result... can someone give me any sugestion??

I ran a couple times with a faster divider. Over >500 etc.... I did some compare benches (mostly games), and the result is: a higher divider has a VERY LITTLE impovement.
I would say, if u dont want to use a too high Vdimm, if u dont want to use a too high vNb, just stick with 1:1.
Did anyone find a good solution to Fan control on the P5BD ?
It actually provides only 1 Control "switch" , as all CHA fans seem to be Hardwired together , and CPU fan is a 4-pin one which needs special solution.

Try resetting bios.

Go to the next to last page in BIOS..(next to the exit page to the right). Save your OC profile - this will save your settings. Then turn it off and unplug psu. Move the jumper and battery to clear the CMOS. Put it back in. Start up and go into bios. Activate your saved OC profile and Change the vanderpool settings now....NOW or you'll have to start over. Well I just finished putting my system together with this board. Haven't had any issues except for it restarting when you power it on (is there any fix for this?).
Also, I noticed my temperatures are flucuating quite a bit in PC ProbeII. My previous computer (which was an Asus A8N-32 SLI) never seemed to move around this much. So far I'm at 380x9 @ 1.41vcore. Stable so far.

yeah the first thing i noticed about going from a p5n-e sli to the p5b-deluxe were my temps being much higher and much more volatile - with a ninja.
second thing i noticed was its instablilatly in simply booting up with or without a bios upgrade - this happened after a couple of days.
these two things led me to a rather quick decision to switch boards.
