Yeah, not vdimm then. If I recall, you still have the stock cooling setup. SB cooling is woefully inadequate. Get that water cooling setup going!:)

Yep, stock cooling and even reapplied MX-2
Temps were good the first 2 weeks, now Sb gets close to 60. Gotta get my WC stuff soon...
With stock cooling and my sli setup, sb temps were rediculous. My GTX280's run so hot that all the heat would transfer onto the SB. The NB would also transfer heat back to the SB, too. Hate the way that stupid heat pipe system would work. It's just a vicious heat cycle.
I think I've pretty much reached the OC limit on this board with 8 gigs. I could possibly get a few more mhz out of it with an H2O setup, but it's so insignificant that I decided to put water cooling on hold until the 6 or 8 core chipsets come out.
Yep
Im also waiting for USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0 become standards and see what new bell and whistle comes out for clarksdale and the other 32s.
So glad the SLI in nvidia only issue was fixed. Now I can go back to Intel chips :D
Am I being ridiculous thinking I should be able to get 500 FSB with my Q9650(1.225VID)? I can't really seem to stabilize anything over 450FSB.
On this same board I ran an E8600(1.2125VID) at 550FSB completely stable(200 linx loops).
Is there some trick to getting stable? How much voltage is too much? The BIOS stays green up until 1.68... I've tried dropping my CR to 2T and my ram timings to 7-7-7-20... I've tuned in my GTL voltages and found the 'best' areas... But nothing seems to work...
Oh, and i'm running the S2NSE bios 805... Anyone know how different the NSE bios is to the S2E bios in reality?
Something tells me CPU microcodes but oh well lets wait for changelog
thanks for the notification
Changelog:
[ 1301 ]
----------------------
Support new CPUs. Please refer to our website:http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/c...Language=en-us
Note: Please use either AWDFLASH or AsusUpdate version 7.14.01 to upgrade BIOS when your currentlyl installed BIOS is prior to version 0402. You could use EZflash to upgrade BIOS from version 0508
Knew it
At least that was fast :D
It's probably for Xeon X3380 support. That's the only new LGA775 chip I'm aware of.
Put 1301 on my S2NSE. No change from S2NSE bios 805.
I've managed to stabilize my quad at 9x500FSB. Most of you are going to balk at these voltages. Yes I'm going to run this 24/7. All this happened because of the guys in the Q9650 thread telling me it couldn't be done on nVidia...

Some of the things I've noticed about the board:
1. 450Mhz FSB and lower is VERY EASY. My cpu/board did 9x450 on all auto settings.
2. beyond 450FSB, the voltage required for vCore, vTT, and vNB jumps exponentially.
3. increasing PLL doesn't do anything for me... Does it really help some people?
4. I haven't noticed any of the northbridge overheating issues everyone talks about here. I've run my northbridge with up to 1.88v(1.9v is where it turns red in bios) and had no problems.
5. Once the FSB is stabilized, clockspeed seems to be a nonissue. I worked out 500FSB at 4ghz, then just bumped my multiplier up to 9 and didn't have to change anything else.
6. forget about stabilizing anything over 500fsb with a C2Q on this board. Seems like the strap on this board beyond 500 fsb is meant for C2D's only.
Anyway, LinXing now. will post that in a few.
1.80 for the NB wow Im surprised.
Let us know for how long your system shows stability.
So tell me, have you primed? Are you stable? for how long?
LinX is running now 55/200 loops max mem(about 3gb). I don't use Prime. I feel LinX is more stress.
If everything goes well, I should have a screenshot in about 2 hours that looks like this one:

:)
Wow
Well, I realized LinX wasnt enough when my system passed 20 but failed in 4 hours of prime...
Yeah I understand
But I dont feel comfortable using the pc when I know I have passed LinX and I might not be 100% prime stable :D
WE NEVER SAY THAT...don't come here as a baby crying when you were very disrespectfull with lots of the best occers on the forum...you stated crap saying you need to see 500 passes on linx stable and saying that we always use SPI as stability proof look at you mate you don'tt even understand yourself you are so contradictory...i can't believe you are admited on this forum
show your 12 hours BLEND as we did and then talk or at least show some respect
Sorry to all here in this thread but this guy has been a pos on the 9650 thread
Cheers all
Sergio
There you go lying again. I asked you to prove your overclock with 500 linx max mem when you were acting holyerthanthou. I went asking for help and got flamed. You went so far as to say my hardware was crap.
You cry and cry and cry but you still provide no proof. Not to mention you don't have a single post in the 9650 thread showing a 12 hour prime. You haven't posted anything other than 'making fun' or 'joking' since I confronted you about your fake overclock.
Oh, and go ahead and cry about how my post count is low. That's clearly a good indication as to how long I've been overclocking or how good I am.
Interesting settings..Gave them a whirl, actually posted at 4500mkz for the first time, ran the RAM at 1800 instead of the 1600 you are running but I can only get to Vista login and she freezes.
Checked the hardware monitor in the BIOS 1.5625 = 1.61 actual for my board . Dialed back to 1.525 no luck. Going to try a couple more things. I might need even more NB as I'm running 8GB of ram. No fear !!!
