max stable is 480 on qx9650 :)
Hi guys, does anyone know of any guides for making a bootable USB stick? The ones I've found so far require getting boot files off a Floppy, which there isn't on this laptop.
Thanks :)
Crucial Anniversary booted first time in this system :)

No floppy required.
2008/01/09 - Bios
Major Reasons of Change:
Added 45nm CPU VTT Voltage control table.

January bios out already..nice.
It's all in the VTT and the gtl settings. Raja's detailed review at anandtech is a great starting point (though in my small sample yorkfield likes lower gtl settings than kentsfield). Also I think there is a fair bit of luck 'o the draw involved. good luck to you! :D
it has a bug on a voltage settings :(
Hey, Mike you get you're Bios Chips yet?
i dont have camera to post the screenshot but i already tried yesterday :)
yep i got it yesterday :D
thank you very much again brotha!
You found both of them right?
Yes i got one + the bonus :D
With VTT 1.60V (1.58V actual) default GTL-settings are 115/115/115. How does it go when using yorkfield? Same values?
Yes, I tired a new bios 12/27 ...and the next day my comp stop to see disks!
I go back to 12/24.
the other way..I`ve changed a block on CPU and temp on NB too high.
What kind of cooling will be the best?

12/27 was borked for me too. Bios options were overlapping each other in writing and because of this you weren't able to change certain settings as they weren't showing up. On top of that I could not post with same settings used in 12/24 bios. It kept powering up and shutting itself down over and over with a 8.8. code. Flashed back to 12/24 and all is gravy. If the new 1/8 bios is similar I won't even be trying it till someone says it is successful in stability and performance.
I have one question.Could somebody explain me something on this page http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3129&p=13
Under Fig 2)
If I use lets say 1.5v VTT,than I must use 1.05v for GTL,or BIOS setting 140,right? Or I got something wrong? They said 70% of VTT,so 1.5v VTT - 30%= 1.05V
Check out this article: http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=3129
I just basically took Raja's suggested settings and then trial-and-error tweaked up and down. For me, yorkfield did better with lower gtl values than those suggested for a q6600 -- approximately 90 at 1.5 VTT or 100-105 at 1.6 VTT for max fsb.
That is the same article... I didn't understand,so... I must (ok it is suggest) use 30% of VTT,or? Could somebody explain that little better? tnx
This will help

CN :)
sorry for lazy to read all the pages
a noob question... channel 1 and channel 2, which is more easy to overclock?
