What is the key to high bclk? Im stuck at 221.999

wow these chips are hot
here is what I'm considering

Well i have been doing some Prime95 and LinX testing of my running setup..
Found a nice place of stability after about 50 passes of Linx and a couple of hours of Prime95...i would say it's considerably stable

Well considering it's summer in Aus. Temps are quite brilliant
Note: Rad has 2 x 2000rpm Scythe Ultra Kazes (Pull) + 2 CM 90CFM Fans (Push) (All on medium speed via Fan controller) + OCZ Freezer Xtreme TIM.
Idle: Core 1 - 39 , Core 2 - 35 , Core 3 - 38, Core 4 - 35
Load: Core 1 - 66-68 , Core 2 - 63 , Core 3 - 65, Core 4 - 66
Vreg Temps at full load are 63 (w/ 60mm fan on Vreg)
System Temps at full load are 33
I think i have found my new 24-7 Clock :)
What do you guys think?
Look decent enough?
A reboot happen (hour 6) cause i set QPI voltage to low (1.25v), now its stable (1.26v). I put some legends on the PS just for those two users yesterday.

that is one of the best chips i have seen..
What batch is that?
ehhh cant really blame the guy for asking. just put your system in your sig. easiest way to avoid that.
did some fun overclocking in my garage the other night, was about 20f out.

definitely could have booted higher but i was freezing and I didn't think to up my vtt or lower my northbridge mhz. oops.
I am new to this forum but I overclock for some time now. I have some results on my i7 920. I have to add that in my eyes (anyone may think different) an overclock is only an overclock when it's at least 8 hours prime stable (on all cores).
Results so far:
4GHz boot(official CPUz)
3570MHz (21x170) - Primed
210MHz busspeed @4hours of prime (still running)
Results sheet
Hardware used:
Processor: Intel Core i7 920
Cooling: Swiftech Apogee GTX, BIX, SW MCP600, 6L water reservoir (old pic)
Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-X58 UD5
Memory: 6 GB (2 x 3) MUSHKIN PC12800 (1600 MHz cas 9, 1.5-1.6v)
Graphics Card: ATI Readon HD4870
Case: Antec Twelve Hundred
PSU: Corsair TX-750W
hit some new highs today. Enjoy.
mmz guy can someone please get on a the rails and link/tell me what bios options etc i best should disable?
Do you guys recommend that I first find the max bclck?
How are some of you guys getting the 21x multipliers? ES CPUs, motherboard feature?
Turbo boost.
Ah, duly noted. Right now I'm working off an ASRock x58 Supercomputer motherboard (free works for me). I'm maxing out at around 3.8GHz, 1.35V. Using a V10 for cooling but likely I'll swap back to a V8 after I get a set of mounting brackets for it. Any suggestions on tapping the bclk up to or over 200 to make that magic 4GHz mark? Increasing the voltage doesn't really help matters.
Argh, my Uncore is crap:(
It wont let me use 210Mhz Blck with a 16x multiplier, at 12x it works but I want my RAM at DDR1600 so Im kind of stuck there:p:
Oh well,:banana::banana::banana: happens, CPU likes 4.2Ghz with 1.36Vcore load (CPU-Z) so yeah, not much to complain about either:rolleyes:
Hey guys I just have a quick question for you.
First when i ran at 4.0GHz i needed 1.40 Vcore,
Now after a few days i've gone back to stock settings and then I oc my 920 back to 3.2GHz, now first i needed 1.27500 Vcore for that to become stable but now I see I only need 1.10000 Vcore and I haven't changed any settings?
IS this because my cpu ran at 4.0GHz and is burned in now that I need less Vcore?
Maybe you assumed you needed a lot of VTT, but when VTT gets relatively high it might happen that it will anyhow only be stable when Vcore and VTT are within 0.02V and 0.08V of each other.
Now you probably left VTT alone and only set Vcore, meaning you didnt have to raise Vcore to unneeded levels to match more or less with VTT...
I guess:p:
Hello all.
Been reading this forum for some time now.
I'm not new in overclocking and I have experience, but a "problem" came up
I don't have Turbo Boost option in my Asus Rampage II Extreme BIOS (along with a few more options)
http://www.imagesforme.com/out.php/t400530_noturbo.JPG (click on a thumbnail to open)
As you can see, there is no option for Turbo Boost
My system is:
i7 920
Asus Rampage II Extreme (BIOS version 0805; 12/09/2008)
2x2 GB G.Skill 1333 DDR3 memory
and the rest:
Gigabyte 8800GT
Corsair HX620
CoolerMaster V8
CoolerMaster HAF case
160+500+500 GB Hitachi HDD
Is it the BIOS?
Will flashing help?
Thank you in advance
Regards
Make sure that you have speedstep enabled.
