Friends, coolbits is only a registry key (.reg) that enables the OC section in the nVIDIA software/driver. The one's from ATI (Catalyst) have this feature always on.
So the 900MHz limitation is not implemented by coolbits as you said, but it's a nVIDIA software/driver limitation.

max here is 990. i bet it depends on the default memory clock on your card.

thats on a evga 7800gt oc sc 550 / 1580 stock
if that is the case, we can edit the bios to a higher clock and then coolbits would allow to go even higher.
That would make senseQuote:

i agree with pandora , maybe it depends on default cloks
Pandora see with Nibitor what is The geometric delta on your XXX card
It for sure does. The max allowed clock is bios clock multiplied by some number like 1.25 or something along those lines.Quote:

Why not just use Powerstrip? It allows overclocks of any mhz amount you want on my 7800GT, I bet it does the same for a 7900GT.
I will be getting a 7900GT in the next few weeks and was wondering the same thing, is powerstrip the best OC utility? I used coolbits and riva tuner before.
1) Vendor : Point of view 7900 GTX
2) Stock speed : 650/800
3) Overclocked speed :728/938
4) STANDARD COOLING , using powerstrip think i got a nice card here :)

I bet its the Delta's stopping us from getting high scores at 600/1800 I expected close to 6000 in 3dmark 06 and only got 5555
So I dunno, Hopefully the next nibitor can tell us all we need to know about these cards on a bios level.
coolbits's max clocks is a registry key, which can be altered..
now where was that url :rolleyes:
/edit
that should do it..Quote:
Jian,
Check your registry these are the keys and values that coolbits uses for hardware options, Marge enables overclocking and Bart, Homer and Krusty set the range of the sliders, this is a copy from my registry, these values are probably going to be too hot for your card as I am running an Ultra, but these Dword values will give you core settings from 220-315 and memory from 410-575....
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\Class\Display\0000\NVidia\NVTweak\Hardware]
"Homer"=dword:000037b3
"Bart"=dword:55172098
"Marge"=dword:00000001
"Krusty"=dword:55172098
EDIT
Hey I found this file for an easy way to supposedly alter the range of your sliders also:

The heatsink on this thing is tiny so will be ordering a VF 900 next week.
I'm really interested in this bios flashing but TBH its a bit beyond me.
I will bench soon to see how faster it is over my 7800 GT
Just overclocked and got 550/1634
3d mark 05 9822.
gotta break 10 k
Mine will be here tomorrow.. get back from class around 4:30, should have results up by 5:30 ;)Quote:
