before i update the hotfix , my cs-s is ok , not smooth and lag. but about 3 days ago steam update itself and new problem comes. i get in task manager and find one core is about 5% useage the other is 100%. they are not average again . i do not know how to fix it . please help me ,thanks.
Can some1 plz tell me if i dont use C'n'Q what should i install ?
I installed all what it says on the frist page , but as i read the thread some1 said the regedit is not necesary if dont use C'n'Q.
So should i disable the reg tweak?
Well it helped me out :toast:
I got after a half hour slow downs in battlefield 2,now it runs like a smooth silk thingy lol.
Thx for this nice info m8 :toast:
@ darksun: i dont use C'n'Q and still had slow downs in games after a half hour,so yes it is possible you get slow downs, even if you dont use C'n'Q
I dont think any of us use CnQ, the hotfix fixes issues with or wihout CnQ, mostly without, fix is a must for dual core users.
sorry if this has been asked before but....how can I tell if the AMD driver is already installed on my system or not?...is there a way of checking?
also same with the MS hotfix...if I do not have the /usepmtimer in my boot.ini does this mean that I do not have the hotfix installed? and if I have it then it means that I do have it installed?
are they both necessary for gamers only or for general PC usage as well?
Thanks
Hey, you can go into device manager and check your cpu driver, if its by MS then you dont have the amd driver installed, if the provider is AMD then you obviously do, as for the /usepmtimer if you dont have it then the HOTFIX is not installed, just follow the instructions on page one and you should be fine, also this fix is for both, general pc usage and gaming.Quote:

Yeah mine is the same thing, and its the one from may 2005, so your fine with that driver.Quote:

LOL.....driver will not enable dual core to work, if you have dual core in task manager you will have two boxes for your cpu traffic, and thats wierd how u got a 3700+ toledo, can u take a screen shot of cpu-z?Quote:

It was due to the MS hotfix/hack : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Session Manager, point to New, and then click Key.
3. Type Throttle for the new key name.
4. Right-click Throttle, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
5. Type PerfEnablePackageIdle for the value name.
6. Right-click PerfEnablePackageIdle, and then click Modify.
7. In the Edit DWORD Value box, type 1.
Without the reg hack the Logitech proggy works and no blue screen
CPUZ does not find my CPU codename ,tehnology , revisionQuote:

Good question. I thought they were the same...so does AMD.
Thats what I thought too :confused:Quote:

From the link, i think they're all the same ;)
Did anyone find that there idle temps went up 2-3 degree's after this fix

Hi. Im new to this forum, so plz be patient with me :P
I have always had some problems with lagging, both ingame and even when pictures are gliding over my screen. What happens is that the moving picture (or everything you see while playing a game) laggs every second. It kinda "jumps" forward every second. That specs (resolution, details etc.) im playing witih in games doesnt have any effect on the lagging itself.
My computer specs, are as follows:
CPU: Athlon 64 4200+ x2
G. card: XFX Geforce 7800gtx
MB: Asus A8N-sli premium
Mem: 2x Corsair twinx1024-3200xl
Power: Hiper Strømf. atx 580W
Ive tried the hotfix. It didnt help.. What is my problem??
Do the hotfix and the drivers, as instructed, and make sure you have the newest drivers installed for ur video card, if you do all this and you still have lag, try reinstalling windows, if still gettig lag, then i assume you might have a problem with your hardware.Quote:
