Is there any bad about 11/02 bios?
Well I can't have Oskar's permission and just post that.
Once if I can, I always post at very first moment.:)
My Opteron 170 overclocks worse than when plugged into my old NF4-D. Used to be running at 2.7GHz @ 1.488V, but now not even @ 1.536V.....Quote:

I tried 10~15 with level 4 and 1 and can't run 300*100, maybe bios dunno
The general consensus seems to be that you need to set the voltage higher in the BIOS compared to the other DFI boards. But at the same time, a lot of people who have set a higher voltage say their temps haven't been affected.....maybe the Expert has a thing for undervolting?
They did change the power system for the CPU, so I guess something was bound to be different.
As for me, the build is pretty much complete.....I was so relieved to hear the single beep and see a picture. :) Actually, it was the most drama-free build I've ever done. Everything worked on the first shot. :) By tonight I plan on having the OS and maybe a game installed and seeing what this thing's got in it.
guys you don't want the 11/11 as there have been later builds since then, this is just a test bios which had 2 fixes, some issues were still unresolved.
I will talk with Oskar ASAP and see if we can get a later build released on the DFI beta site for you. DFI have decided to no longer flood the net with beta builds due to some of the issues this caused in the past, so we do need to get permission now to release.
Tony
If you are running TCCD you want either 7 or 5 for drive strength, 9 and higher may over drive the dimmsQuote:

what about for Micron type IC?Quote:

I think I found the problem. My Geil One S don't work well on the Expert board..... After changing the ram to Gskill LA, no more reboot. But on the NF4-D, the Geil can do at least 320 with 2.9V, what's going on?
Not very lucky with my geil one s 2, what settings are you using ?
I tried dram/driving - 5/4 & 7/4 no luck yet.
I tried all slow timings. Actually when I set one of them other than "Auto", no boot at all.....Quote:

In my case, I jump .05V on top of the .06V idle above CPUZ's display. So I am at .11V above CPUZ under load. The others mentioned above have similar results. So... you may have been using more Vcore than you thought, and now that things are being regulated better, it seems like you are doing worse, when in fact things may be the same.Quote:

I will be getting my Expert tomorrow, so I will report back (maybe this weekend) with my results. I will have the advantage of knowing exactly what Vcore I needed (via multimeter) to achieve a given clockspeed. This may help resolve the question of whether or not the Expert is simply worse with Opterons.
I don't come here so often, but just had to say sry about the incident OPB. Thank God your place didn't catch fire b/c my friend's did 2 months ago. Him, his wife, and his 2 kids have not had a house for a while now, and are living with family. It could have been worse! :D
In any case, I really (oh so badly) want to buy this expert board. The only thing that kept me from doing so was word of frying CPUs. If in fact the board that did that was a BETA, and not the ones that I can find at retail, then I would like to know ASAP.
If no retail boards have done the same, then I'm gonna buy one today. I have been running my opteron 144 CAB2E at 333x9 (3ghz) game stable at about 1.6v, but at my highest 1mb super PI clock (343HTT) I have to run 2.0x LDT. I cannot do 340+ HTT with the 2.5x LDT, and the 2.0x is a performance hit.
Since I'm limited to x9 multi, I need a board that can do at least 340-350HTT. Has the expert been doing that with ease?
It is very to good to know you are well. Getting your computer gear is very nice, but your health is the most important thing.Quote:

Take care my friend.
For those who have Geil one se, there is nothing wrong with that, cuz the tccd screen shot I post is basically the samething as you guys,
Remember,
you might waana:
1. switch to Orange slot
2.label the stckers on each sticks and exchange the sticks to different slot
3. remember, this is completely new hardware updated board, so don't even recall the setting from old school nf4 series. You gotta find the best vdimm, driving & data Strength.
Welcome back OPB :) Good to see you again.
when you said you lost other computer components, did you mean they are permanently lost (fried & short circuited from all those water)? or.... just temporarily inaccessible? (they're okay but still in your apartment)
According to my test with BOINC Benchmark, cas1.0 was about 1% faster than cas2.0.Quote:

Hey thay might still work ;)
If they dry up it is not sure they died. You never know, and it is about time your luck should change!
are you insured ? :(
maybe with some users donations you cold get new replacements ! ;)
