You two are talking about two different things (well, sorta--w1zzard is commenting on the SS you posted and the SS you posted has nothing to do with this). Currently ATi Tool cannot be used to OC an X1 series card. There's no X1800XTpe. Your SS has to do with whether or not a GTO2 can be modded to 16 pipes.
By flashing to an XT BIOS, you'll probably not be able to boot as it's unlikely your XL's RAM can run 1500MHz. You won't mod because there's nothing to mod. If you want to get higher core speeds--just OC and raise voltage in Windows but make sure your cooling can handle it.
Fuse data is useless right now as NO ONE has any retail XTs right now and only a select few have retail XLs and probably don't care about fuse data (why would it matter? to tell the differences between the cores? all current R520s are A14s).
From your other thread I can tell you're curious about unlocking something the X700.....not only is this not the right place for it but there's nothing to unlock :stick:
Anyway, carry on.
Oh, and :welcome: to XS!
yes i know ;) i wasn't disagreeing with him lol :toast: (i think you misinterpreted my post as being sarcastic ;) it wasn't ;))Quote:

gto2?
that xtpe was a typo ;)
I do realize that the xl has 1.4ns and the xt has 1.2 ;) i plan on editing the bios for lower clocks all I'm after is the name ;) btw im doing this more to help out other people mod their cards than me ;)Quote:

yes i know its usless as there are no 12/<12 pipe r520s planned i was just wandering what it said ;) and besides as w1zz says there isn't fuse data ;)Quote:

that wasn't me in the thread and yes i know i already told him there wasnt anything to unlock ;) i was just showing w1zz that that dude got fuse data of his x700 (or so it looks..)Quote:

What I'd and many prolly like to know is how the XL does with its own cooler WITH the voltmod?
most likely rather poorly. The little aluminum XL cooler simply won't be able to dissipate the heat generate by overvolting an XL to XT levels and OCing it. If it could, thats what the XT would use, IMO.Quote:

here are some pics :)Quote:

Has anybody taken off the cover of the HSF and slapped an 80-90mm fan on it???
Hmmmm XT is taking to long to come out

(Note: I understand that the XTs may not be truly available in retail on the 10th, and thats not what I'm say, so lets leave that out of the discussion.)
There was some info of a X1800LE. The X1800LE if it comes out may have the softground cores on them.Quote:

the 100% fan noise on my x1800xl is unbearable for normal use. okay for overclocking and what not its not too bad. smacking on a zally copper gfx sink and using the fan at 5v its still really hot but bearable noise. gonna stick it at 12v see what i get temps wise but the fan is pretty loud at 12v. just need an overclocking tool that lets me go above 575 and up voltages.
