heh...the legendary unlocking NCQ hack....
2 ALL
Anybody have the "Motherboard design guide for 939 CPU" PDF or so on...order number 30474... I didn't find it on AMD site. May be they deleted it...I want to see what do they connect on those pins
pirs would you be willing to sell that cpu?
I measured resistance more times :)
And now I have on Venice E3 3000+ x9 max
E11 = 69 kOm
F11 = 69 kOm
all others PINS are approx 83-85 kOm
Measured Venice E6 3000+ x9 max
E11 = 79-80 kOm
F11 = 79-80 kOm
All others EXCEPT T4, T3 = 90-92 kOm
T4 and T3 have more than 200 kOm..
TBH, I highly doubt that the answer we seek is in the pins... This is not a K7 we're talking about. Things work different in A64s...
In K7 there were bridges which means the multiplier was set using electrical HIs or LOs ('1' and '0'). But on A64 there are no bridges, and the multiplier is set internally in the CPU, using PowerNow!, so there are no more bridges, meaning pins have little difference on what settings are set in the CPU.
Unlocked Venice very nice !

Does anyone know how the FIDVID_CTL is compared to FIDVID_STATUS
this is the stupid part :)
maybe mathimaticaly something can be done to fool the cpu to change the multipler
stupid example:
say its only 2 digets and after 99 it goes back to 00 (like the y2k thingy :) ) you set it to like 110 and it compares it FIDVID_STATUS and checks and see 10 but actually changes the multipler to 110 :) ... maybe it'll work if you can write to NEWFID, which i think someone said you can
ok ok i'm stupid but you never know (god damit where is spell check :) )
Not sure if naked photos are still of relevance, but heres the best shot i could get showing clearly the "J#" on the PCB.
Photo is of a 'Clawcastle' 3500+ CAA2C 11x - note the "J#" is B8
Nothing unusual on the pins side, so no point in posting a photo(?)

will get to posting my naked 3200+ Venice next time i lift the CPU block off.
