Installed my x2 3800+ a few minutes ago. Stepping is 0528 XPMW.
Now running std, temps are 28C / 33C / 36C for cpu / pwmic / chipset as reported by mbm.
Bios is 523-2. I'll try to adjust a few settings later and see how it fares.

Oh I havent seen this stepping lets get some ss's and see how it goes. Make sure you post the MaxCaseTemp SS on the thread.Quote:

njkid, my question. Did popping the IHS help volts lower at all?
Not really but it helped alot with temps at higher volts. If you want to lower your volts do a good burnin (using cpuburn).Quote:

Just take your time and be carful! There is a huge thread on this in the best of amd. Read through it cuz it will help you! If you need more help with it just pm me..Quote:

I'll try to speed it up to 2.7 and see what happens :)
Let's see how it clocks and we'll tell you :)Quote:

well, right now it's doing 220*10 1.26v stock cooling.
Ok guys I am stepping it up now! I just got my Mach1 in the mail today. I did a test run with it and it sits at -46c. I ordered the mounting kit but it has not gotten here yet. 2nd day air is not what it used to be. LOL Thats prolly better cuz if it was here I would be up all night and not goto work tomorrow. So I am waiting till Friday to hook it all up...... I cant wait! So Friday night I will be online with some good SS's (I hope! )

OK, here is a problem I've found, let's see if you can tell me what's going on.
OK, maybe my SuperPi Mod version is too old, but if I ran it twice on my 3800+, the second one gives me an error just a few seconds after, while the first one finishes. It's not related to OC, cuz it was at default then. I thought maybe it was core1, so I ran prime on core0 and superpi 32M on core1, but finished OK. Then i ran prime on core1 and superpi 32M on core0, and finished OK. Then I ran two superpis, and the same problem again...
hav u put the two Superpis into different directories?
One for each core, as it were.
oooppppsss... :D
Ity is the same file, I open one, and then another one... :P
Should I create two different directories?
yes
exactly what you do!
lol.
also if one of the SuperPi fails you need to clear out the extra files before starting the run over.
leave the pi_rec.dat2 and pi_data.txt files delete the rest
Guys I just picked up an X23800+ at Fry's yesterday. So far It can do 2.6 SuperPi 32m/Prime stable at default voltage. 2.8Gig SuperPi32m/Prime stable with 1.4 volts at the moment. This is with my vapo. I haven't tried anything more than 2.8 so tonight I go for 3 gigs. I will post pics then. This chips are awesome!

I just got 280x10 1:1 stable - my tcc5 needed 2.9v to make my memory controller happy in windows
i was used to my old tccd that only needed 2.6 to do its thing - either way i am happy i am off the 9/10 divider......one step closer to my ultimate dream goal of 300x10 1:1........a guy can dream cant he?
Jooks good bro! Its funny how are ram and other things react with a new chip. I think its just TCCD though cuz my CH-5 is running the exact same with the X2. Now my TCCD's didnt like the X2 very much. Or it was just my fault a setting or something....Quote:

Hey dnavarro looks GREAT! What type of cooling do you have and your cpu stepping?
Thanks! CPU stepping is 0529XPMW. As far as cooling this is with a vapo ls. I never tried aircooling, just went straight to the big guns. I wonder how high (voltage) I can safely take one of these with my vapo and 24/7 operation. I imagine 3.1-3.3 may be doable since I am not all that high, but this is my first 90nm chip so I don't wanna burn it. I know there is more headroom, I have only had to increase the volts a couple times :)
