is anyone here running this ram ASYNCHRONOUSLY? cos i'm having ALOT of trouble getting this to play nicely... i can hardly even boot into windows at an effective memory speed of 210mhz... i've tried up to 3.2v so far (not using jumper yet, it clearly isn't the problem, cos in 1:1 i can reach far higher mhz)...
if anyone is runing async and has this ram running beyond 230 for example, please post what bios you are using, what cpu u are using, and what settings/latencies (a64t screenie would be very nice)...
i'm using a venice 0517 EPMW 3000+, so i have to resort to ram dividers.
It looks like your using a Gigabyte board. I have a DFI NF4 Ultra-D and i've been running dividers on mine. I'm currently using a 166 divider to run the RAM at 233Mhz. I've tried the 180 divider on my board but Memtest just locks up so i dont know if its cause i need more voltage or if its just that divider doesn't work well. Dividers dont always work and sometimes you have to try different BIOS versions. Thats why i prefer DFI boards because there are always new beta BIOS's being released. And just FYI, Athlon 64's dont run memory syncronously, the RAM never runs insync with the FSB(HTT) speed. The RAM derives its speed using a divider against the current speed of the CPU. So even in 1:1 your still using a divider and running async. Thats why there isn't an impact on performance from using dividers like there was with the Athlon XP.Quote:

I just ordered a set of these. I can't wait to see what they can do. How have they done w/ Neo 2s? I think I'm going to end up DFI SLI-DR and a 6600gt too. Don't want to let my Gainward 6800gt gs go, but I will have to. Oh well.
sorry the info in my sig is like 8 months old...Quote:

Just got this memory today and I can't seem to find anywhere up to what vDimm I can run it without voiding my warranty (with all the UTT dying lately I don't want to risk voiding my warranty). Anyone know?
Look at sig for specs.
I cant seem for the life of me , get 2gb of 4x512mb GSKILL PC32000 GH ram stable in my DFI NF4. I know to disable CPC , however for some reason if i try to do anywhere from 13x 210fsb-250fsb at very laxed timmings 2-3-5-3 it just wont pass test 5 in memtest. I am using 7-2 bios and running 3.4-3.53 in the vidimm. I know my ram is good for 13x 260FSB dual channel with my fx55 and vapochill LS, Memtest stable. The only way i can get 2gb stable is if change the divider to 166mhz instead of 200mhz 1/1 . After that i can do around 250fsb. I changed out the mobo with a new DFI Ultra and still exibits same errors in memtest with 2gb of ram. I can run stock saw 2.6-3 gighertz but as soon as i hit 3250-3300 i am bombarded with memtest errors.
The max i know my cpu can handle is fully stable at 3300-3400 mhz easy
I even tried disableing bank interleaving. still same . Any experienced overclockers out there know the issue to solve this?
@Unrealcpu
You have to test all four sticks individually, and place them based on how well they OC in particullar Dimms.
Dimm1 (farthest from cpu) - strongest stick
Dimm2 - stong stick
Dimm3 - weakest stick
Dimm4 - weak stick
I think thats right from my memory. I will try to find my post about running 4x512 of GH and post link here.
here ya go:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=66638
BTW I gave up on the 4x512 gh and ran 4x512 of TCCD instead. Have since gone back to 1g conf.
Well i think i figured it out. I just need to run the 166mhz fsb instead of 200fsb. I can run it at 262 fsb 3.41 gighertz with 2gb of ram.. I already tested my ram and the 2 strongest are in my dual channel positions. i will check out your thread. I want 2 gb for BF2

I'm going to try all 4 sticks of GH again in my gaming rig next week and want a head start ! lol

Anyone know the answer to this?Quote:

This Gskill GH, is warrented to 2.9v. Thats said, the set I have atm, run fine 2-2-2-5-7-12 with 2.6v but 2.8v fails memtest. I'm getting a new set soon.
OPB,
I saw this was asked B4... but I didn't see an answer... will this RAM
work on NF2 Boards... specifically the Abit AN7 or Nf7-s... please let me know if getting 250 @ 2-2-2-11 can happen with this RAM... or if I should stick with my TCCD...Quote:
GSkill 1gb-GH pc3200 2-2-2-5 (new BH-5) *Brain Power PCB*
TIA
EDIT: OPB replied to tell me it should work just fine on NF2 boards, but will still need 3.2-3.4v of juice to make it shine... which is fine Cuz my AN7 gives me 3.2VDIMM stock and it even overvolts a little ~3.3v.... so I'm golden
i was planning getting this memory, do u guys think it will do 260 on my NF3? right now i have 1x512 Corsair pc3500. will 3x512 work well on NF3 at 250+FSB @1t tight timing?
Yes, the AN7 has 3.2vdimm, but the vtt doesn't track well. It will really drop under load. The way that I was able to help this was to put a 92mm fan blowing over pwm area. I never ran any higher that 2.8vdimm though, but this really helped. I had an 35w 2400 running 11x240 on that board. This was the only way I was able to get above 225.Quote:

I just bought them here in Spain, you think i will be able to reach 250 htt at 3.3V (or hope so 3.2v?).
My system reached 270x10 with TCCD cas2.5-7-4-3 1.48V vcore and 300x9 10/9 without problems, then i switched to Mushkin Blue UTT-BH and couldn´t go over 250 (3.5/3.6V  ).. i hope i can reach 260 3.5V or even less (my winchi does 260x10 with 1.36V ;) ).
What do you think, did i do a good purchase? (195€).
What bios should i use for better OC with these UTT-BH? i also bought 2 Enermax 9cm for the mems ;) Any other advise?
Thanks a lot for your time.
Hi there Hitmaker,
You shouldn't have any problems as long as you use the correct bios+A64settings , this sticks seem to go easy on A64 to DDR500 speeds with around 3,4v. I can't help you on the bios front 'cause you know I'm playing with GH on my dothan.
Those mushkin blue sticks can't be compared to Gskill GH sticks, these are hand-picked UTT-BH.
For the price...well in Spain you could only buy them where you did but @ the egg they are 147$...In Europe I got them for 204€ shipped.
See you @ Gpumania.
Dumo : trtw=1 is a no-go? this would be a major performance boost
I just received the mem and i have already try to OC it.
First at 2.7V vdimm with these settings works perfect without errors:
200
enable
2.0
02
05
02
07
14
03
03
02
03
0648
1
enabled
auto
0
level 8
level 3
7.0ns
5.0ns
16
disable
16
07
disable
With bios 702-2 and yellow slots.
I have try to reach 250 with 3.3V (3.2V and using my OCZ powerStream to rail up the +3.3V line), but i got a couple of errors (around 10) per pass (test number 5 memtest86).
I thinks is because of the bios and the latencies, not because of the mem. I tried TREF 3684 and 3120, Drive Strenght at Level5 also and Cycle Limit 256 too. Didn´t help at all. Also its wear that using oranje slots i got 2-3 less errors.
so any idea???
