Ive actually flashed away from that bios and didnt even wana take the chance of using a different vid combination.. Too scared to kill my precious sandy.. :)

the 706 is the 704 with out 116% and above for special VID control, works fine and is safe, but still puts some high volts through your CPU regardless.

My advice is for everyone to stop using 704 and wait for the replacement from oskar wu, he's working on it.

??? I am not reccomending anything. I have 'added' the bug statement and the bug link to the ISO and the -mini.

I was referring to the post from 187(V)URD@ as I was not sure he was aware of the 704-2 issues. I was quoting you to point out the warning.

But i am no longer using BH5 anymore but TCCD and since i never had TCCD what bios can you recommand for now?

I am running the UT SLI-DR with 2 sets of OCZ4002048V3DC-K it is 4 1gb sticks and an X2 4400+

What is the best bios for this combination?

try the official 623, its the most balanced of all the bioses so far. not to mention it wont toast your CPU like the naughty 704 :D

Ive been using 623-3 and it's been giving me a hard time. My computer crashes on Windows splash unless i tweak the hell out of the memory settings - and that's at DDR400 (I have DDR550 TCCD)

i'm on UTT (OCZ PC-4000 Vx) so maybe thats the diff.

Just moved over to some PC-4800 samsung TCCD and its flying on the bigtoe modded 704 tho.

the bigtoe modded version does not include the dangerous CPU voltage options. therefore, while max voltage is limited, its still quite safe to use.

I've attached it here. This is exactly the same as the 704 that was recalled, but all voltage mulitpliers above 113% are removed, because those are the ones that did damage.

i still recomend that you use higher core voltage rather than the special % increase ones.

edit: "file is too large" bah, someone let me know who to PM it to...
