ur not as cool as eva tho, You take it he posts all over the net about ram, if you Made ram, siff you wouldn't give him a set, i want some now :D
Lol :)
So... how well do they overclock compared to your other sets of BH-5?
Now we all want toys ehh? Eva works hard for his...its not all toys and no work ;)
Awesome work George as usual ;)
If 10x256Mhz passes everything but Windows MemTest, don't worry about it. People got all freaked out about Winnie's failing Prime95 when they first came out, but if they pass everything else who really cares :p:Quote:

thanks Tony... DFI NF4 certainly does help tweak out more mhz for memory across the board regardless of brand :)Quote:

2x 512MB OCZ PC3500 Plat LE BH-5 original stuff still clocks higher at 260-266mhz 2-2-2-6 at 3.6v though.
I see. Then I still have the ultimate BH-5 sticks :). :toast:Quote:

Any chance somewhere cheap in the uk might have them anytime soon. I "think" overclock.co.uk just got the bh-5 sticks in, but at £190 they are steep(not blaming overclock.co.uk, i used to work there and the guys there rock, just uk pricing everywhere that sucks extremely badly). Just seen the review on anandtech that suggest $195 for the bh-5 and $115 for the value vx, that equates to around £70 for the vx and should be £140 ish for the bh-5.
might get some from somewhere in the states if anyone can recommend somewhere. if the value vx isn't around yet, any idea when we'll start to see it. sure some european readers here would love it if you could recommend one of the stateside sellers as a reliable place to buy it from that would ship internationally. newegg won't, a few places will but can't find many.

WTF???!!
Anandtech points it´s value Vx ram, but there are no winbond markings, like in all other chips.
Still the ram does 240 2-2-2 with 3.3v, wich is certainly winbond.
where can you get the value VX's in Aus? You can't yet can you? I've looked around but it doesn't seem to be around. Looks good performance on the Anandtech forums so if i miss out, it'll be a pitty.
Quick question for you fellas with these VX4000 Gold...
Any of you guys running them on K8N Neo2 mobo's??
Reason why I'm asking bout running them on K8N Neo2 is because I can't seem to get these sticks of mine stable on either of my 2 boards... DFI SLI-D & K8N Neo2...
Was thinking it was a power supply problem with the DFI (which is most likely right as even with 2x256MB BH5, my rig just turns off if I try to OC my cpu/ram)...
But on the K8N Neo2, that's a different story.... I've been able to run my 3200+ on that rig up to 2.5GHz (10x250 1:1) but once I put my VX4000 Gold in, I lose all form of stability...
I have ran memtest at numerous settings but to no avail... These 2 sticks I have are faulty imho but it seems no-one wants to listen to me... Ppl keep telling me to get a 24pin PSU but really, would a 24pin PSU really matter on a K8N Neo2??
These are the only settings that work:
200HTT 1:1 @ 2.9v 2-3-3-8
These are settings that I have tried but it don't work or brings up numerous errors in tes 3, 5 & 6 of Memtest86+ v1.55 & OCZ Memtest v1.0:
200HTT 1:1 @ 3.2v 2-2-2-8 = numerous errors in the 3 tests mentioned above
217HTT 1:1 @ 3.3v 2-2-2-8 = numerous errors (over 1000 errors)
Anything above that & it just errors out... I'm kinda getting sick of ppl telling me to get a 24pin PSU as I've just spent over AUD$1500 on some components...
Think of it this way, I do not have the DFI SLI-D & only gave the K8N Neo2... What would your thoughts about this RAM be then?? Really, I have tested these VX4000 Gold on my 3200+ Winnie/K8N Neo2 as well as my mate's 3500+ NC/K8N Neo2 but these sticks fail miserably...
Any ideas/opinions welcome...

Long time, no visit... been busy
Recently, while taking apart and cleaning out my system, I scratched the PCB on my Corsair CMX512LL. I wasn't too thrilled because even with chipset voltmod on my NF2 mobo, the RAM would only hold 2-2-2-5 @2.8 up to 220, and CAS2.5 up to 231. I got after selling OCZ3500EL Gold that did 2225 up to 225...-_-
So after the Corsair broke, I cracked the heatspreaders open and found out I indeed did have Winbond BH5. What a shame I never got the chance to put 3+ volts through them.. I'm sure they would have been magnificent.
So now I am deciding between OCZ 3200 GOLD (BH5) or OCZ 3200 VX... leaning towards the BH5 because of nostalgia. Do any of you know any company offering these new BH5 or even UTT that are binned at 249+ @2225... like the OCZ4000VX?
Fir the DFI you MUST have a 24 pin PSU. No negotiation there. The Neo 2 does not need or require one. If you have problems on the DFI after you get a 24 pin PSU with the VX, lets RMA you. The Neo 2 should work, but you might have other factors affecting stability.Quote:

will OCZ release a higher rated BH5 like there god-like pc3500 plat.?
If they use the same dies, speed ratings mean nothing.
Depends on how they get binned as well. If OCZ were to bin say a PC3500 at something like PC4200 then that'd be great :DQuote:
